Not veggie myself, but I don't understand why they're taking this step. Why do minstrels need cow stomach in them?

# Neither product requires animal rennet.
There are multilple veggie alternatives, and as I said earlier I think some of the veggie products are actually cheaper.
My guess is that Mars have found a supplier that's cheaper overall, but who happen to use rennet in their process. I really hope they regret this and have to change back. Not that I have anything against Mars, but if they are able to do this without losing money in the long run it sets a worrying precedent from my point of view.

# That's just fucking stupid.
The story, that is, not the pic. I reserve a special rage for the guy who said "a less strict vegetarian should enjoy our chocolate"
I remember seeing Lisa Simpson Lunchables in the supermarkets a while ago, with bits of processed ham in them. Lisa Simpson is a vegetarian. Good marketing guys!
(, Tue 15 May 2007, 16:21, archived)
# I don't understand their logic
If the figures are correct, 10% of the population claims to be vegetarian. Even if that is inflated and it's only 5%, that is still a massive chunk of the market that they will lose.
