if anyone's interested I turned off 'Shape Dynamics' in the brush settings, and set Opacity Jitter to pen pressure+50% in 'Other Dynamics'
This was an accidental but it's nice to draw with.

ok who owns a black alfa romeo and was sat at a junction and thought it would be funny to drive into the back of my car as i'm driving past and speed off? luckily no damage to my car, but i have got chunck of their bumper impaled in the shiney polished aluminium bumper on my car! Yay for sold metal bumpers and no plastic crap on my car!

I sometimes paint directly onto masks, it achieves a similar look sometimes. Gaz me if you're interested and don't know what I mean.
