I've attended a dinner where he was the after dinner speakerhe has a 'tradition' that when he enters the room all diners should stand up, and when he speaks there is to be complete silence,
as he is prone to pick people out for talking during his waffle and eject them.
It's not an uncommon occurence for his after dinner speaking either, apparently.
