# what about tinkering for days with stuff until you get something you're happy with?
(, Fri 23 May 2008, 13:59, archived)
# I must admit.
you have a point.

I do try and fuck around with things a bit before I run them out. You can do it in Bryce, it just takes a bit of time.

However, my innate paranoia and self-loathing is telling me that he may be taking the piss, so I'll shut up right now and avoid making myself look an even bigger twat than I already have.

Edit: For example - five hour render time:

# er
I think you're a bit beyond 'let's plonk these presets here' junior school :)

(, Fri 23 May 2008, 14:13, archived)
# That's pretty bad ass for bryce!
have you thought about moving on to something like 3ds max or even blender (that's free).
I think you can get a version of XSI for a few hundred and they used that for ironman.
There are other ways of getting these though.

But I digress this is pretty damn good!
(, Fri 23 May 2008, 14:32, archived)
# I've got Max
but I scares me rigid. I should try and have another run at it.
I'll check out Blender, though.

Ta for the tips!

And thanks for the props.

:D

# I think
alot of people start 3D in Bryce then realise it can be a bit limited.
I'm now on C4D, much prefer that to anything else I've used.

EDIT: Of course, the pic just above this proves me completely wrong, but oh well.
(, Fri 23 May 2008, 14:06, archived)
# It's pretty, but not actually very surreal.
There isn't any disparity in the imagery that evokes a dreamlike sense of liminal order just beyond reach. 'Surreal' is one of the most abused terms in modern language - journalists in particular seem to think that it means 'a bit weird'.
(, Fri 23 May 2008, 13:59, archived)
# Still better than calling every bloody thing 'random' though.
(, Fri 23 May 2008, 14:12, archived)
