is it really?
I get New Scientist and Focus ( plus a shedload of PC gumph ) and I have no idea what they cost now. I never look at the bill but I think I save at least tuppence ha'penny by subscribing.

Newscientist seems a bit more affordable
Nature is the killer, at £10 an issue per week; and they are very selective about what papers they publish in it

Don't you talk
to me about cost! next thing you'll be telling me you have to pay for the banana cake for the monkey birds you breed in bunker 3 sub-level 6.
You are government funded until you turn out the super-soldier they want.
I have to buy my own comics :(

Actually, we aren't government funded
the only brake we get is the Mayor of London paying for a discount for school kids to visit; that's it
Though the Duke of Edinburgh does give us funds

the above ground work. I know all about the secret stuff. I've smoked enough weed this week to learn about secret stuff all over the world. They are even under my house man!

That buffoons in hi-viz uniforms pratting about in public transport queues are completely counterproductive,
and turn what would otherwise be a relatively pleasant, relaxing bus journey to work into a protracted, uncomfortable ordeal, resulting in my arriving at work stroppy and highly strung, obliging me to vent my impotent fury at the internet in visual format.
...although not in as many words ;)
