Gore visited The Netherlands, lying prick.

# Did you see Mitchell and Webb last night?
Apart from Digby Chicken Caesar being wonderful, as per, there was a brilliant Nazi sketch.

(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:28, archived)
# haha no - I was busy watching Shogun on DVD
although their Nazi sketch on the Secret Policeman's Ball was good
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:30, archived)
# Hitler dies and David Mitchell replaces him?
'Heil me, eh?!'

(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:30, archived)
# He's good, but I can't help thinking
He's a Tesco Value Stephen Fry.
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:34, archived)
# Really? I find him quicker than Fry
I'm not saying Fry isn't wonderful (he truly, truly is) but David Mitchell unscripted is just sheer fucking genius as far as I'm concerned.
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:35, archived)
# i think he's a tosser and there are far funnier people out there
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:37, archived)
# Angry young man syndrome?
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:38, archived)
# Why do you think he's a tosser?
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:39, archived)
# i don't find him very funny, consequently the mitchell and web show annoys me to fuck
and i conclude they are tossers. I find a lot of 'comedy' to be awfully unfunny. there's nothing worse than watching comedy you don't find funny.

# These days, with the aid of modern technology
It's possible to turn the television off, or even change channel!
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:42, archived)
# You mean I don't have to watch NUTS TV forever?
HURRAH!
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:42, archived)
# what?

# Genital torture.
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:42, archived)
# I can imagine he would
actually be quite annoying in real life, just because I always imagine him as an exact replica of Mark

Although he's probably nice. He is pretty quick though, granted, but he's no Stephen Fry, not yet.
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:49, archived)
# I saw him interviewed by
Paul Merton I think (though it wasn't Room 101), and he came out with the glorious phrase "I see. So now I'm a gay Nazi paedophile. Well that's just great."
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:38, archived)
# Ah Yes.
I remember that quote :)

He is very funny, but he isn't a patch on Fry. No Siree!
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:39, archived)
# :D
his delivery is brilliant, also.
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:40, archived)
# Absolutely agree
And he has eyes you can get lost in. Seriously. They're like 2 black holes that cannot be undone through Hawkin's Radiation.

# *token repost* morning lovely
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:45, archived)

Mornings!

Edit: I also rather fancy Robert Webb, so it's all good

(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:30, archived)
# No, it would appear not.
I only caught the last half of the SPB. Tim Minchin was good, I thought.
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:31, archived)
# heh, he was funny
although he looks like something out of Hollyoaks

# Except upside down and post-attack by small girls armed with a blunt eyeliner and a dread comb
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:33, archived)
# I do normally like him,
but I thought he was a bit out of place there.

To be honest with you, I would have preferred less comedians doing more comedy. And definitely would have shot Razorlight in the face too!
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:36, archived)
# That song wasn't bad though, for them.
One of their more palatable efforts, I though. Borrell still needs a five minute conversation with the back of my hand, though.

# That is putting it politely....
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:38, archived)
# or a nice sit and chat with my mum, grannie and I

She is normally very amusing.

I thought he was a celebrated thicko - and now he's an environmental evangelist?
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:33, archived)
# I think he just capitalised on his status as
"The Guy Who Isn't George Bush", that's got to be a good thing in anyone's book
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:35, archived)
# jeah, it's always a winner
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:38, archived)
# He sez CO2 warms up the earth
but lots of scientist have proven him wrong.

There's still a huge academical debate what's the cause of global warming, so spreading the 'truth' could be the next 'iraq hoax'.
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:37, archived)
# sigh...
NO THERE ISN'T. Even the furcking Republicans admit global warming is happening these days.

Slag off Gore all you want (certainly some of the statements in the film as shaky), but you can't seriously argue that the debate is still ongoing, it isn't.
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:38, archived)
# Errr read his post again,
and then comment. He didnt deny Global warming is happening. He said that there is still debate over what is the cause.

Dick.
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:42, archived)
# yes
and the debate about the causes is over. The vast majority of scientific journals support the view that climate change is being causes by human activity.

This is just the fallback position for people who spent years claiming that global warming isn't happening at all, until that view became untenable.
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:45, archived)
# Thank you sir
I'm actually quite for saving the environment, but not for running around spending HUGE amounts of cash on stuff that only buys certain people bigger houses and won't fix anything.

Better things would be a global fund that provides and monitor sufficient solutions.

Look a bit further then only your country and help the real polluting parts of the world like AMERICA, INDIA, CHINA, RUSSIA and/or eastern European country's.
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:48, archived)
# no, there isn't
the concept of the "debate" was invented by Neo-Cons and oil companies as part of a (now failed) strategy to stop them from having to do anything about it. In reality there is complete consensus among climatologists as to the human cause of global warming. The only people who now uphold the concept of this "debate" going on are a handful of conspiracy theory nutters and the like.
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 16:11, archived)
# From my recent
forays into learnin' about the American political system and whatnot, it seems some people, especially Republicans can argue* about anything they wish

# haha
it's the beauty of the 24 hour news cycle in America, as long as you make the claim loudly enough, they'll move onto the next story without questioning your assertion in any detail.
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:46, archived)
# Ooooh!
Nice article :D
(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:48, archived)

(, Wed 15 Oct 2008, 9:47, archived)
# As far as I can see it
even if it's all a sham, all this 'stop driving everywhere etc because of global warming', it's not a bad idea. Petrol's expensive and sharing lifts/using public transport makes good financial sense. If people don't want to make changes in their life for the alleged benefit of the planet and it's x-billion inhabitants, at least do it for the sake of your own wallet.

I'm sure I'm probably wrong or whatever.
