pfft
I saw that film last night. I was just a series of chase sequences linked by a few fights. The plot barely got a look in.

I saw it last week.
I didn't realise there was a plot trying to look in.
Or any comedy.
Or any decent bad guys.
Or any coolness.
Or any chase/fight scenes that were possible to follow. I have no idea how the fight scenes ended, it just seemed that the baddies kept fucking up of their own accord.
One of the shittest Bonds, in my opinion.

and I tend to think Bond films are poor anyway
... so you've just successfully put me off thinking of going to see it at the flicks...
they're just bloody car and watch adverts now anyway

yes.
quantum of solace does manage to lack substance on a greater scale than any of the other Bond movies. Which is quite a spectacular feat.

Thunderball was the best for me.
but only because I have memories of my dad taking me to see it in the mid 70's when it got a re-run at our local flicks. The only other film my dad took me to see was Bambi.
So Thunderball may or may not have been any good but it was a rare occasion when my dad was not at sea so I recall it as good. ( It was good, I know, it had Connery in it )

it's a sadly underatted Bond is Thunderball
on the back of Goldfinger, it's easy to understand why.
I'll even forgive Diamonds are Forever because it had Connery and Charles Gray in it, in
an otherwise feeble plot

I was just expecting a lot more, I think.
I thought Casino Royale was quite good, decent twists, and entertaining. I thought Quantum of Solace would be an attempt at being even better.
The action scenes appear to be shot by an ex-NYPD Blue cameraman, on a horse with Parkinson's.

It's not bad.
If you're a hummingbird.
This may not make any sense. I simply meant that key parts of the scene may or may not be visible for a millisecond or so, which means that if you blink, the scene is over, and you're never quite sure how he won the fight, you just know he did.

I prefer the ones with the terrible puns
like in tomorrow never dies (i think its that one anyway, in korea)
Where he jumps and grabs a bell,
And says "saved by the bell" when he drops down.
Thats bond!

Goldeneye
was the last great Bond film. Perhaps only for the dam bungee jump at he beginning, but that bit rules.

^this
exactly. there was a lack of humour, coolness or cheekiness in this one. Casino Royale was much more enjoyable.

you know, if you changed 'advert' to 'product'
you could line up the two 0's and make the 7/gun logo part of the 'h' for here.

ah
I was racking my brain to think how I could incorporate the 0s. I was trying to make it like those adverts for adverts that you get on the back of train tickets though.
