# Can he check the welds in my exhaust?
It vibrates horribly at 1400rpm and the exhaust manufacturer claims the vibration is coming from the engine, despite only vibrating on the offside outlet.

# Have you checked the exhaust clamps.
Sometimes they come loose, or the rubber (if it has rubber cushions) can wear. Give it a hefty good shake and see whats what.

# It's a baffle that's vibrating
It's certainly not worn or loose, the car is only 9 months old and the exhaust is 1/2 that. If you cover the offside pipe the vibrating stops. The manufacturer has had the exhaust apart several times now, their welding is shit and they can't fix it. It's a pain but the car rarely sees 1400 rpm so it's not like I worry.

# Strange. But at least you're within your warranty.

# The exhaust has a 10 year warranty.

WHEN the loose baffle eventually falls off, they'll just have to replace it.

# Hmmmm. Nice noise.
It doesn't sound all that bad. You can hear a slight rattle as the revs rise, but I wouldn't be overly concerned.

That's sometimes the problem with custom exhausts, though. Welding can sometimes be suspect as you said above.
I have a HKS superdragger on my Skyline. Noisy, sometimes too noisy, but has never let me down.

# I'm not
It's only at 1400rpm, it's annoying when the engine is cold because that's the revs it sits at, other than that it's normally at around 1500-2000rpm.

It sounds great when it's bouncing off the limiter.

# the heatshields on my old subaru used to do that
I poked a bunch of small stones in and glued them there with exhaust putty. Funny smell while the stuff went off, but after that it was all good.
