I don't have any of that photoshop malarky so it's not the best picture ever and I hope it's not been done already, but all the same I hope you like it.

# hahaha!
have you tried this
www.getpaint.net/
it's not photoshop but it's free and easy(ish) to use. merely a suggestion not a criticism on your image

# Done that
Cheers.

# I've started using GIMP recently
and am getting some half decent results once I've sworn at it for a couple of hours.

Tis freeware

# how does it compare to photoshop?
apart from being free.

I've never used photoshop.

# erm, it's bloody awful
photoshop may not be the greatest thing in the world, but Gimp is bloody painful to use
(, Mon 26 Oct 2009, 14:50, archived)
# painful?
it's piss once you get used to it
(the same is also probably true for PS though...)

# I'm finding it a lot easier to use now I'm getting used to it
but I was a bit 'wtf?! why won't you fucking do what I fucking want you to you fucking stupid piece of shit???' at first :D

I was like this

# I love that Onion News Network clip
it never fails to make me laugh.

It's the deadpan way the Sony spokesman says 'We want people to be screaming in unison in houses across the country, 'work, work you cocksucking piece of shit. what is wrong with you? why can't you work like a normal machine?'' that cracks me up every time :D

# i'm not sure
only used (a less than legal copy of) photoshop a couple of times... couldn't get on with it.

# When using gimp , I always have TaskManager running to monitor cpu useage
If you interupt Gimp when it's busy doing something, it can sometimes crash. Some jobs take up to 45+ seconds (eg converting an animation to a gif)
(, Mon 26 Oct 2009, 14:58, archived)
# i wasn't aware gimp could do that...
i use eRightsoft's SUPER for converting video
(, Mon 26 Oct 2009, 15:03, archived)
# I meant creating an animated gif from multiple layers
but Gimp will split video files (and small clips from a larger video file) into multiple images and you can then convert them to an animated gif

Open "new"
Click "video"
click "split video into frames"
(, Mon 26 Oct 2009, 15:15, archived)
# ooh, ta
i shall try that, SUPER rapes my processor :)
(, Mon 26 Oct 2009, 15:18, archived)
# Gimp will also do screen captures
so if you only want to grab a few frames from a video
play the video in any player and freeze it on the desired frame
click "file"
click "acquire"
click "screenshot"...etc

step player to next frame and grab again

# gimp shit
gimp is the best open source image manipulation software I have found but it is still utter shite compaired to photoshop. There is a reason its industry standard and costs fuckin £700.00!
