i don't think i'll have another now. My previous cat, Trevor, was a real character. He brought me half a pigs head once- how he got it through the cat flap I'll never know! I know he stole it from the local take-away though.

about 3 1/2 months ago, I had to have my 15 year old dog, Pepper, put down - probably one of the worst experiences of my life, aside from my 16 year old cat being put down in '96 - my parents got her a few months before I was born.
I said I wouldn't get another, but a few weeks ago, I visited a re-homing centre just to have a look, and yesterday, after interviews and sessions over the two weeks, I brought home another dog.
This morning I went downstairs only to find Benji sitting on the kitchen table, wagging his tail. Utterly mad, he is.

I am avoiding anything to do with kittens at the moment, or I will weaken...

I'm sure you were a brilliant cat-mum. When the right cat and time comes, make sure you are open to it, though. So many kitties need some love and care and have none.

I miss still miss my first cat. He was Pushkin and died 12 years ago.
He has a little granite gravestone in my parent's garden in the spot where he liked to sit crunching bunny skulls.

I lost my 16 year old cat Kimbi a few months back, and I still cry every now and then. I still can't bring myself to change my desktop, because it's the last photo I took of him. :(
They burn so bright, but for half as long.
