St George's day

wear your cross of st george pance with pride, st patrick has had it his own way for far too long, it's time to redress the balance a bit.
the fact that st george wasn't english and got his work visa application turned down and had to do his dragon slaying somewhere else has no bearing on anything.
the last time i read a history book jeebus never visited this fair country and he gets 2 all singing and dancing holidays with cakes and eggs and all manner of other goodies. what's good enough for jeebus is good enough for our man on the horse, george.

Yes...

...I'll be celebrating it. It's about time we had as much of a ding-dong as the Irish do...

I still think we should re-instate St. Edmund, though, our original patron saint.

And, let's face it, we could all do with another Bank Holiday on November 20th, right? We could get our Christmas shopping done early and everything.

Yay

my hometown's patron saint is also saint george. I even have a very nice plaque with him on it on my house, as it's a monument.
