I wish I had thought of it first. Don't personally see a problem. The company paid him for stuff which he then supplied to said company.

This is a normal post Trouble is
With my IT security hat on I can't help but see that he gave access to the company systems to an unauthorised third party over which he had little or no control. That's the sort of thing that gets you fired.

It also gets your customers asking all sorts of awkward questions and if the software development company were working on sensitive systems its likely to lose them contracts.

Still, got to admire the ingenuity.

This is a normal post lever on his part, stupid on the companies part to fire him...
...given the green sky thinking the tech companies like to claim to embrace they should have promoted him.

This is a normal post It's interesting really.
If you employ consultants to do your job for you, this is fine, and you don't even have to pay for it.

If you employ consultants to do your job for you on the quiet, it costs the company nothing, but you get fired.

Rather than fire him, they should have hushed it up and promoted him to run his own outsourcing team.

He's already proved his management & recruitment skills, whilst also demonstrating that he can save the company money through outsourcing.

hired.

he passed up the opportunity to use his spare time to contract for another company, more than doubling his salary in the process.
