The TV programme, famous for its mockery of politicians, is set to be relaunched this autumn.

It'll be interesting to see how they manage to portray black personalities without massively offending a huge portion of the Twittersphere.

But then again also strangely aroused. I only hope they will ignore the snowflakes and get on with it. If this country needs anything right now its a return to the "I don't give fuck" school of entertainment.

and cannot see how he's actually getting upset? He did have a point about how "edgy" this show could get compared to the original.

but he responded to the unveiling of a Boris Johnson puppet by complaining about things he predicts to happen, based on and demonstrative of his own faulty and fearful perceptions of people he characterises as faulty and fearful.
WRT how edgy this show might be, it will be reflective of its time, just how it used to be. 30-50 years from now, new Mr. Penises will hark back to the 2020s as the paragon of edginess and permissiveness, or whatever virtue is held in nostalgic esteem by then.

Thank goodness then that we've got you to constantly tell everyone how they're thinking wrong. Otherwise we might turn out to have opinions or something.

Because we are not exchanging ideas without engaging in any criticism?
What?

TBH I don't think anyone should need it, it's obvious just how upset and fearful Mr. Penis is.

I think you come across as upset and fearful far more frequently than I do. But just like your latent racial prejudice, you don't seem to be able to recognise it and/or admit to it.

You turned a story about the reveal of a puppet of a white man into an anti-anti-racist right wing talking point about how this country is too easily offended.
To me, this looks like Daily Mail style racist fear.
Please now describe my latent racial prejudice.

There will always be the professionally outraged.
Much of the sensitivity relates to the use of caricatures by racists in the past or just punching down generally.

- they've ditched the caricature and just gone for what he actually looks like

The original was very patchy, and bringing shows back relies on nostalgia over ideas and talent.
Nice to be proved wrong, but it should be as good as the Are You Being Served remake.

People remember the puppet designs, but was the show actually that good? My only memory of it is that bloody song.

That's the one.
I mean there's the other one I guess, but that's the one that always turns up.

and I don't recognise any of their other songs except those two.

Worth it just for that one song.

I mean, I french, so I am humming a French song.
What?

Much of it doesn't stand up, really. Some of that is because it was satirising forgotten events of one week of the 80s/90s. Some is because Ian Hislop just isn't that funny. The last series or two were the worst.
