Lego Yoshi built using a 3D scanner
I made this!
A while back I made a Lego Mario using the same technique so this time I thought I'd make a video of the process. Cheers.

Solid? Waste.
The 3d scanner, cool. Breaking it down into a pixellated form and building it up, that was ok. Why in the name of Juddering Christ doesn't the software calculate the skin stress and calculate a load bearing internal lattice structure so you don't have to waste all those bricks?
Bloody visual artists, no common sense.

1) Fuck Off
2) It is hollow. Most of the model is just 4-5 studs wide.

Well done!
I really enjoyed that (I am retro games nerd) and I was also impressed by the steady camera during it, slow zooms and pans on the time-lapse photography. Do you use software for that, or something to physically move the camera?

The slow zooms and pans were done using After Effects. Because the timelapse stills were taken with a dslr there was plenty of resolution to allow me to crop in a 1920x1080 frame on the original footage. You can then adjust the scale factor and position over time - does that make sense?
