Judging by the comb-forward,
nature is doing its best to help him out with at least part of that.

He's a luvvy actor with a mind full of airy fairy actor stuff
He has an accountant (smart boy) and the accountant says "do this!" and the luvvy actor goes "smashing splendid, you're the expert!" and goes back to posing and reciting lines with depth and feeling.
Actor gets in trouble.

dodging 1.8 million seems a bit more than claiming that trip to thailand as business expense to research the role
I reckon it's more "Actor agrees to incorporate himself as a blind private interest foundation in Panama and pay himself via loans in Ukrainian Hryvnia converted into Ethereum"

Well look, if you're in the position that your accountant says "I think I've found a way to save you £1.8 million" you're going to at least look at it aren't you? You're going to have to trust them as to whether it's all above board or not as they're the ones giving you professional advice.
It looks to me like he's been badly advised here.

I’m not down on him, I really just posted so I could make the joke
Most people try to avoid paying tax. But he’s a working 36 year old adult, not the sultan of Brunei’s playboy son, seems unlikely he’d be unaware of where 2 million of his own hard earned went

This ain’t his first rodeo. In fact I’m starting to get distinct Lestor Piggot vibes.

A bit like Jimmy Carr - I always felt he was a victim of poor advice.
What bothers me is the recent shift by HMRC to saying that tax avoidance is dodgy - it used to be accepted that avoidance was making choices within the rules to minimise tax and was legal. Anything outside the rules was evasion and illegal. Now it feels like the only way to avoid getting into trouble is to take the higher tax option anywhere you have a choice.

Jimmy Carr was not given bad advice.
He was given GOOD advice, which saved him money, legally.
And the fucking PRIME MINISTER took time out from an international summit to have a go at him for it. Credit to Carr for taking it on the chin, and fuck Cameron for sanctimoniously having a go at someone for obeying the rules HE (Cameron) SET.
Fair boils me piss that does.

I don't think I've seen him in any non-Potter stuff
but he seems to be working steadily on stage and screen, and has racked up a reasonable tally of awards and nominations for his work. I do care if he pays his taxes, the dodging cunt.

He can say "Bloody hell!" very convincingly.
That's got to count for something.
