Play.com have fucked up again (needs Opera)
I made this!
A few weeks back Play.com fucked up their coding.
They've somehow managed it again.
(This only happens for users of Opera 9.62)
Below is what I've changed their site to this time.

But!
It isn't Play sending the image request to leech your site - it's Opera. So why the dick move against Play?

because they set their site up and it's the site that allows opera to do it

That's a strange piece of reasoning
IE doesn't do a stupid redirect. Well done Play!
Firefox doesn't a stupid redirect. Well done Play!
Opera does a stupid redirect. Bad Play! No biscuit!

No, IE, Firefox and other browsers fail. 404. Server not found.
The reason being that Play have linked to a server that doesn't exist outside the developer's network.
Both Opera (9) and Firefox will try to resolve incomplete addresses by searching, but Firefox only seems to do it on typed addresses. (Try it: techdesign/LandingQ4_08/QuestionOfSport/dev/pb_qos.css )
It might be misguided behaviour on Opera's part (indeed, it doesn't seem to do it in Opera 10), but it's still Play's fault for shoddy Find And Replace skills.

So instead of saying
"Yoo hoo, Play, I've found a bit of dodgy code, you should fix it!"
he does something intentionally detrimental to them?

if someone kicked me in the teeth,
i'd do something intentionally detrimental to them too.

It's a combination of a broken link and Opera trying to fix it but failing.
So a bit stupid of Play (but definitely doesn't deserve this) - though ultimately it's Opera's fault for trying too hard.

I think we have a play.com coder in our midst.
the real quesitons of course is, who gives a shit? it's play.com. i really don't think this will affect their market standing to too much of an horrific degree.

I can't get this to work, im using 9.63, and tried 9.62. do i need a specific version, or is it fixed?
Edit: just realised this happened ages ago, so it's probably fixed.
