Why is poker such compelling TV?
I don't know who came up with the idea of putting it on telly, but well done them.

It's weird isn't it.
Its explosion in popularity in the last ten years or so I'm sure is almost entirely down to tv exposure, more than Internet poker alone anyway.

it's the glee of knowing that the smug bastard with a full house is about to lose the shirt of his back to the guy with the four kings

Don't like the rule saying she has to show the cards if he folds.

It must just be a rule for that competition... you have to be able to decide when to show cards if someone else folds. It really helps with the psyche war.

I think she also played some 'Bluff' card thing,
which ment he had to go in the cage if she was bluffing and he folded. Also televised poker allows viewers to see all the cards which kind of spoils the game in my opinion.

she wont go far in Poker if she keeps playing like a loon
the other, more experienced players, were super confused at such non standard game play.
