Parents couldn't afford a BBC :(
But the Electron was alright for learning BBC Basic and machine code programming the 6502A chip.
Thanks for reminding me of it!

Growing up with a BBC Micro B was the gaming equivalent of wearing a leper's bell.
Did have an Atari though, the games console with wood effect panels.
The '80s were a bit shit.

BBC B had Repton & Exile (and Elite, if you like that kind of thing)!
...and Castle Quest. PLus ports of most of the decent speccy games.

I've got a beeb emulator on this work computer, for a crafty lunchtime game of Repton or Mr Ee. Or Repton 2 (if I'm feeling masochistic).

Did you also have a butler and some black people as pets?

Same here - i felt superior to my speccy and C64 owning friends who had all that shitty loading lark to put up with.

Then my dad managed to have it "converted" to a Commodore 64 by some dodgy bloke. Was awesome!

but I can't tune it into my telly without the remote which I lost ages ago - must remember to buy one of those generic ones from the cheap shop
