This is a normal post Still looks fake.
I can't figure out why. But it does.

Amazing how attuned the brain is to reality. Before 6pm, anyway.

This is a normal post Yeah. It'd be great for a video game.
But you wouldn't want to use it to CG Peter Cushing or Carrie Fisher and put them next to real actors. That would be fucking stupid.

This is a normal post not enough eye motion/focus
lack of elasticity/wobble/twitch in the whole face (I'm guessing over smoothed mocap data)
no flushing in the textures
solid around the hairline
lots of reasons
Very impressive for real time though, you can tell who it is!

This is a normal post I think so. This video has all of it x1000 30s and 4m07s onwards especially

We are used to these things, we expect these subtleties, but we don't notice them.

This is a normal post Andy Serkis is the luckiest cunt alive, isn't he?
It's just pulling exaggerated expressions with dots stuck on your face. Yet he's treated like a mystical mo-cap oracle.

So much this. I have no idea how he's been robbing this living for so long. I assume he has something on some studio execs somewhere.

This is a normal post I think it's the jaw.
Real peoples' lower teeth don't just move up and down.

This is a normal post I started watching this without realising it was cgi
and wondered why he was acting so weirdly, like his face movements seemed strangely subdued compared to the emotion in the voice. I guess there is some subtle information getting lost in the whole process

This is a normal post the problem is the deformation
without a correct bone, muscle, fat and skin model the result will always look fake as it will move in the wrong way.

This is a normal post Personally I think it lacks the tension in the facial muscles that comes from an intense expression.
Where the muscles pulling in opposite directions would be tensed at the same time, which should tighten up and crease the face along sharp lines. This seems to be modelling some mass in the face, but just letting it sag under its own weight.
