MOD EDIT: This is a real mod edit. Yeah, I'd like a wider FP too. It's been in the list for a long time, but we've been held back by the thought, "actually the FP really needs a rethink anyway" and that's a tough job. The FP has to do SO much (there is a LOT going on on b3ta) and it has to work for both hardcore boarders and the silent majority of people who read the site but don't join in.

NON MOD EDIT EDIT: Nah - screw the silent majority - they're not going to complain about it anyway! I meant mainly a wider area for pics on the FP really, but I know it's difficult to cater for those in crappy resolutions.

MODEDIT: If we'd ever screwed the silent majority, you'd have never heard of B3ta in the first place. All posters started off silent.

User modding
It would be ace when they are busy to have a member moded system. So for example if a load of trusted members find the pic NSFW we could mod it down quick to save any possible Work firings.

I have broken my F5 key can a special page be made to F5 every min or so (use Meta refresh or crazy Ajax stuff).

The ability to hide certain posts without ignoring
A main board link that shows only the pictures and no comments so I don't have to trawl through pages of 'crap' replies to get to the good stuff.

Wider front page pictures as 280pix is a bit small for some stuff.

an auto block for pics over 50-60k and gifs over 250-260k.

Able to browse a members posts with pictures only, missing out their comments.

A retrograde link to all pics that got an fp, so we can browse the wonders therein.

I know that some are mentioned in the news letter, but it would be nice for the best compo entries to have their own two minutes of infamy.

modedit: Check the challenge page. Once it's closed, the page features the top 20 or some highests voted images. e.g. www.b3ta.com/challenge/celebrity_death/

Just an idea
but how about a single-click way of just hiding one particular picture without actually ignoring them. Could be useful for NSFW posts when the clever mods aren't about, and everybody loves reading all the replies porn gets.

MODEDIT: We have one, it's the "i like this button" - it's not public coz often really stupid things score the highest votes e.g, "If you love me, click 'i like this'" and hence we'll use the second highest.

A seperate board to post compo entries on would be great - as I know sometimes it gets a bit OTT on the main board when it sgets flooded with zillions of shitty (er...and good) compo pics.
