Can we have a bigger gap put above the underline underneath Add friend, Ignore, Hide, Delete, Edit, I like this! and Reply? I think the bigger gap above the underline underneath our user names just works so well, it would be a treat to see bigger gaps above underlines everywhere.

and yet we suddenly all have our usernames underlined, which I don't recall anyone asking for. What's your game?

As has already been mentioned below.
It's been over 2 weeks now.
May I politely enquire as to when it may be fixed? Please?

How about removing the 'bugs and feature requests' section?
What's the point of it? As you say yourself: "(We don't promise we'll act on any of it, but we will read it and your words could even prompt us into action.)"
Our words quite obviously aren't read. And from what I can see, the square root of fuck all is ever done - and the same shite keeps getting regurgitated, wasting everybody's time as they hope for some sort of action / reaction.
10 PRINT "Search is borked & we'd like an onrunning 'image chalenge style' popular page for QotW "
20 GOTO 10

*sigh*

Thus showing how "hard" the user is.
Also, a coundown that shows when the user will be able to return.

Whilst ignoring those who chat bollocks greatly improves the site, it means we miss out on all threads below where they have commented. Can we have the ignore button revolutionised so that only the ignore person's post is hidden, and all the rest are shown?

the bbc link is always so fucking depressing!
how about these instead:
www.beautifulbritain.co.uk/htm/onthisday/onthisday.htm
www.reference.com/thisday/

I know we can hide the thread, but sometimes all you want to do is not see the picture but still read and join in the thread.
Like when someone posts a picture of a spider, all I want is for the picture to disapear.

The London Bash date has changed for a second time. The first time I noticed this was when it got a mention in the newsletter. I initially felt I must have put the wrong date in but was fairly sure I'd check something like that. Today it's happened again though. I've tried editing but it still remains on the 27th not the 26th.

cos that would be handy. even if it was only active for a couple of minutes, or maybe an 'are you sure?' link in the little pop up window?

Is search broken? Search is broken. Why is search broken? Please un-broken search.

Why isn't there one?

How about putting singles ads in the newsletter? Set up a /dating board and encourage people to post ads so we can all have a good laugh at how pathetic and alone they are.

I like the new feature of putting a popular link on the front page. I don't spend enough time on /links to check everything, so it's nice to have the occasional good thing filtered out.

If I want to watch fucking YouTube videos I'll go to fucking YouTube. At the moment it appears there's next to fuck-all else being posted to fucking /links.

Links can be (/is) very slow to load, so replying in threads can be a pain.
The reply box pops up inline, but how about if the reply was posted back to the server ajax-stylee and your reply inserted in the DOM when the ajax responds?
It would also mean you could reply to a vid before it had finished, without interrupting the vid.
/edit: Let me translate that bollocks for the non-techies: Stop the whole of /links reloading when you post a comment.

Is this a bug, or do I have to wait a bit?
( , Tue 7 Feb 2012, 12:37, 1 reply, 13 years ago)

And people reply to it.
Then people reply to the replies.
The the OP goes back in and edits the post a bit.
As if by magic, the 'replies of the replies' no longer count in the total replies number.
*drops to knees*
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!?!?!?

The date/time function thingy is being bonkers.
Have tried changing it but I think it's broke.

could we please have a selection of buttons that say "liar", "paedo", "nonce", "I hate you", "I suspect I'm better than you", "I hate everyone", "I'm calling the police", "I'm wanking to this" and "I like this"?

Six months after Professor Fnord first mentioned it, Youtu.be embeds are still not working. Nearly everyone posting a Youtube link gets it wrong first time. See also Lord of Teh 9's post below.
While I'm at it, the View Older Links issue is still outstanding nearly a year after being reported.

So if something is crap, you can hide it - without ignoring/blocking a user.
I could try and do a mockup userscript if there is something I can work with.

so I could find out if my suggestion has been asked already, without having to write a google query with an inurl. I am too lazy to do that thing, but just about not lazy enough to prevent me making this request.
My new thing is, other people should do unreasonably tough things to make my life a teensy bit easier.
I learnt it from my clients.
