This is a question B3TA fixes the world

Moon Monkey says: Turn into Jeremy Clarkson for a moment, and tell us about the things that are so obviously wrong with the world, and how they should be fixed. Extra points for ludicrous over-simplification, blatant mis-representation, and humourous knob-gags.

A few suggestions
Give all children a free e-book reader and unlimited free downloads to boost literacy levels.

Raise the age to purchase cigarettes every year by one year to attempt to bring up a generation who don’t smoke. Triple the price of cigarettes.

Reduce income tax to stimulate economic growth.

Ban litigation companies such as Claims Direct in an attempt to reduce the “compensation culture” and reduce the automatic sense of entitlement people feel if they have an accident.

Make it more difficult to obtain credit to make people more financially literate.

Introduce two year’s community or military service for 18 – 20 year old’s. Those who gain a university place to be able to defer their service until they have graduated.

Make cyclists register their bikes and display number plates. All cyclists to be made to have insurance.

Fine anyone playing music at a level that others can hear on public transport £500.00.

Ban chugging.

Fine councils who fail to work with charities and other NGO’s to reduce homelessness

Jail anyone found to carrying a gun (without having the appropriate license) for 30 years with no parole.

Ban James Corden from ever appearing on TV again.

Triple the price of cigarettes? Why not simply ban them?
Oh - that's right - because they bring in so much more tax than smokers cost - £8.5 vs. 1 bn (figures from 2007-8, if I recall correctly).

Cigarettes are an excellent form of revenue - smokers pay much more tax, and die much younger, improving the pension pot for everyone else. Encourage people to smoke, but like a good dealer, don't take your own stuff.

Perhaps instead of point 1
you could just encourage people to use the libraries a bit more.

True.
However kids like gadgets and an e-book reader is immediate and makes it easy for them to access books.

Can we just ban James Corden?
Make him illegal

Smoking can be enjoyable, why try to ban it*?
Also, please could over to my house so that I can treat you like shit and have you do lots of 20 mile runs for a couple of years. Since you didn't do military service you must be worthless to society and useless at your job -- perhaps being treated like shit for a year or two will help?

*I haven't smoked for years but the recent fashion of likening smoking to pædophilia always makes me realise what a bunch of joyless, frightened, puritanical fucks people are turning into.

I smoke 30 a day and I hate it. I have made some stupid mistakes in my time but none as stupid as starting to smoke. I don't people making the same stupid mistake that I made.

I said community or military service. My view being that this would teach people life skills that they don't currently learn, give them self respect and a reason to get out of bed other than to watch Jeremy Kyle.
