i've been sat stationary in traffic for 45 minutes now
The snow is bloody mental. What are all of you lot up to?
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:03, 77 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
bored and getting cabin fever
i machine embroidered a photo last night, though. Might do another later. Where are you trying to get to?
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:06, Reply)
it's only a 12 mile journey
From birmingham to hagley. Been in the car for the better part of 90 minutes, not even halfway there yet. Sigh.
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:09, Reply)
I just peeled and chopped 5kg of potatoes
In preparation for a christmas meal tonight. It took a while, and it better be worth it.
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:13, Reply)
5kg?! that's a lot of spuds
How many people is that for?
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:16, Reply)
About 15
2 full roasting trays of bits of potato. I look forward to eating them.
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:22, Reply)
nursing my calves
I walked around with no shoes on and am paying the price.

Apart from that I'm next to a roaring fire, looking at the snowscape with a cup of tea
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:17, Reply)
picturesque!

(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:18, Reply)
fire and tea sounds great :(
There's a good four inches of snow here at least.
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:22, Reply)
where are you heading?
will there be fire and tea at the end?
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:27, Reply)
yes!
turns out snow down the hill is not so bad, christmas fun is still potentially ON!
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:18, Reply)
Still trying to warm up.
I had to walk home in the snow wearing 5 inch peeptoe stilettos this morning.
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:24, Reply)
Did some food shopping and helped my mum wrap chrimbo presents.
My sinuses are killing me so I'm going back to bed.
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:26, Reply)
Think of me and have some fun

(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:29, Reply)
Got some Vicks?
And have you bought all your presents?
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:33, Reply)
Why do your calves hurt when you don't weat shoes?

(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:36, Reply)
shortened tendons
I can walk in flat shoes but if I do it for too long it strains my calves quite badly
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:42, Reply)
I'm sure you've already thought of this
but can long term stretching not help?
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:46, Reply)
it can
but I did it for months and then got too bored and angry to continue. In the interests of me being a calm person I abandoned physical therapy ages ago
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:50, Reply)
You need a big blonde man called Sven to talk
gruffly to you and manipulate your joints. I can lend you mine.
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 14:00, Reply)
I think I'll pass
all physiotherapists are cunts. I wouldn't shake hands with one
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 14:01, Reply)
After seeing a couple for a few months I can't help but agree

(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 14:03, Reply)
Well, given that I happen to know a very nice one
that statement is clearly just grumpy bollocks.
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 14:03, Reply)
You may know one
I had seven in total across two hospitals and an outpatient clinic. Every single one was a cunt with a predisposition to sadism.
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 14:05, Reply)
OMG seven people involved in physical therapy made you think they were cunts
which, given that they were almost certainly trying to encourage you to do something which was probably a bit painful but likely to benefit you in the long term is hardly surprising.
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 14:06, Reply)
I'm not stupid Al
I'm pretty good at knowing what's good for me. Repeated humiliation and attempts to and I quote 'break you before we fix you' are not part of the recovery process. It's indicative of a inherent sadism in an individual that I personally find distasteful. Given that it's thanks to my wonderful physiotherapists that I had to relearn by myself to walk, because they never bothered correcting the genuine faults I had, I find it hard to find any gratitude.
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 14:11, Reply)
I think you two should totally get a room

(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 14:34, Reply)
This morning we bought shed loads of boze for christmas, then we went to B&Q to buy plaster
and now I'm watching Ice Age 2 and looking at the snow falling hard outside
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:28, Reply)
watching Ice Age 2?
Your wife is such a beard.
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:44, Reply)
Such a what?
Is that some sort of scottish insult?
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:45, Reply)
I think he's implying
you're as gay as a bunch of leaping lords, and your wife kindly acts as cover
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:46, Reply)
Oh I see.
He's got a bloody nerve suggesting that, what with he reputation and the fact that he's got himself a trophy wife too.
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:47, Reply)
it takes one to know one
is what I believe the phrase is
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:51, Reply)
I was tired of people rightly assuming I was gay
She had had enough of peeing into shoes. T'was a match made in heaven.

(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:50, Reply)
Oh no, I feel bad now, I don't want to upset Mrs B3th.

web surfing while in stationary traffic
You should be ashamed of yourself young missy. You could easily become distracted and crash into someone.
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:43, Reply)
Better than rubbing one out though surely?

(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:45, Reply)
She probably did that for the first 45 minutes
She's a filthy girl that one.
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:48, Reply)
hahaha
You wish I was! How can i crash in to stuff when i'm not actually moving?
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:55, Reply)
It's funny because you're not moving so can't crash

(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:56, Reply)

You are in my head.
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:58, Reply)

(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:58, Reply)

(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 14:02, Reply)
No, you have to go a long way down that road
to be even close to feeling as sad as Chompy.

(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:54, Reply)
It's okay if you're in stationary traffic
but if you're a squirter you should use a tissue to prevent obscuring your windscreen.
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 13:55, Reply)

We've had a few CMs but the sun is out and the sky is blue so fingers crossed it'll clear before too long.
How far have you got to go?
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 14:00, Reply)
What's a CM?

(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 14:04, Reply)

I'm watching the snow fall
as we abandoned our trip into town for Christmas shopping after we almost hit a 4x4, drove into a hedge or ended up in a deep valley - all at once driving sliding down the hill near our house.
Later I'm going to make PJM and the Nuggets get outside and clear the roads with spades.
(, Sat 18 Dec 2010, 14:18, Reply)
Football called off.
Nothing to watch at five now. I'm taking solace in the fact a load of my mates were already in Liverpool by the time it got cancelled. Megalolz.

Boohoo!

I'm thinking of getting drunk. It won't make me feel any better but at least I won't care.

I'm feeling so weak and miserable I'm considering watching the film '27 dresses', later this evening.

I've just been to the shops
I went out to go to the gym but by the time I'd slithered my way to the business park it's on it was clear that I'd be at best the 3rd person to drive into it, so I figured the gym was shut and came back via the shops. Whole thing took a couple of hours.
