The answer is 'smelly and full of half-built villas and fucking litter'

You missed out stupidly hot and lecherous waitors

(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 16:19, Reply)

That doesn't answer "how much are meals out and what's the weather like at the end of march"
you would never win the weakest link.

(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 16:35, Reply)

And I have a whole year before the panic of "holy fuck how am I actually going to pay for this" kicks in
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 16:37, Reply)
By saving up the money you are no longer paying towards
contact lenses + solutions + glasses, etc......
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 16:40, Reply)
I've seen a holiday for £61 for a week half board
or £140 all inclusive, don't know which is better value.
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 16:23, Reply)
For that money both will be shit

(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 16:25, Reply)
Nah, last minute deal only singles
This is the hotel good reviews. hib.traveltainment.co.uk/lastminute/HotelInfo/HotelInfo.aspx?IFF=66301&TourOperator=

They don't seem to cater for single people
gutted
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 17:00, Reply)
always all-inclusive
if it's hot you'll save a fortune on cold drinks around the pool. you don't have to eat there every night.

i was really resistant to all-inclusive after a shit one in cuba, but jamaica, grenada etc have really converted me.
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 16:28, Reply)
Cancun all-inclusive was absolutely amazing!
Apart from the stupid merkins there on SPRING BREAK YEAH!

One spoke to me at the bar and explained that she had just got engaged.

"Will you get me some tequilas please?"
"Its a free bar"
"But will you get me some? I've just gotten engaged"
"ITS A FREE BAR"
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 16:30, Reply)
hahahahaha
i always use trip advisor now, have been stung by what looked like a brilliant 5 star, turned out to be half-built and in the middle of NOWHERE. anywhere that says "suitable for families and couples" is going to be dullsville.
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 16:34, Reply)

(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 16:34, Reply)
Don't go all-inclusive.
Local cuisine is the whole point of trips abroad (unless you're in Libya, the food there sucks. Kazakhstan also not the tastiest of venues.)
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 16:55, Reply)
I'm being a real pleb holiday
price is literally the only thing I care about, cos I'm so povo.
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 16:57, Reply)
Save up enough to go and see the Paphos mosaics, they're really cool.

(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 16:59, Reply)
I second this.
There are plenty of other roman sites, and other eras worth visiting.
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 17:01, Reply)
That's like someone visiting london and telling them to nip to Endingborough to see the castle.

(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 17:37, Reply)
now this is where i half agree half disagree
it is worth the all-inclusive for what you save on drinks.

but only a non-adventurous moron would eat at the hotel for every meal.
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 17:00, Reply)
In other news my flat is a half built villa away from being Cyprus!
I could do with some sun
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 16:22, Reply)
North or south? I haven't been for about a year now so I don't know prices (it changes a lot),
But end of march it starts warming up where it is nice till end of may, then it gets a bit too hot.
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 16:53, Reply)
North,
Çatalköy close to Kyrenia apparently.
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 16:55, Reply)
I was in North Cyprus last April and the weather was lovely.
I saw some great classical sites but it is full of half-built villas and litter. I'm in no hurry to return. Food etc was actually quite costly what with the shit exchange rate.
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 17:11, Reply)
Woh', so was I, we could have totally meet up.
The half-built sitation is a joke, they build a show-house, get the money for the first sale house, use that to build two half houses, second house doesn't get sold and everyone goes without.... only scaled up for verious companies.

I'm lucky that my site is well built, we went with the most reputable company in the country, my uncles went for some property on the site next door our one (as our one was all sold), and none of the aminities are built (like swimming pools and shops). When we bought, the site next door where my uncles built was supposed to be a golf course SLASH equesteriain centre.

I wish my Dad never stepped foot on that island in so many respects, but he did love it there.
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 17:26, Reply)
Oooohh, I know there very well =)
It's quite cool, quite a few nice resturants, are you going to hire a car/go with someone who drives? I'll be honest about the half board thing, that's what I would do, the hotel food at that price won't be great but there are so many nice places around there to eat.

Don't rely on public transport, there are loads of cabs around there, but it's best to hire a car if you've got a lisance, it'll let you drive up to the mountains and visit the other areas (I can point you out to quite a few nice places to visit).
