It was an OK day
that student did more flinging cake in people's faces. He got two girls to squish cake into each others' faces. I had to not make any reference to two girls one cup :(

I got my new camera this week, very excited, I'm hoping I'll have some time at the weekend to play
I got a Panasonic Lumix LX3 in the end, I'm trying to learn about aspect ratio's, shutter speeds etc at the moment, this is making me feel retarded.
(, Wed 2 Mar 2011, 17:58, Reply)
aspect ratio is not important when taking the picture (that's a resizing issue)
shutter speed and aperture are basically how you balance how much light gets in. Long shutter speed lets more light in, short lets less

aperture is the size of the hole that lets the light in - smaller the number the bigger the hole.

Balance them, then you've got a decent picture. Piece of piss
(, Wed 2 Mar 2011, 17:59, Reply)
huzzah, Pulitzer here I come!

(, Wed 2 Mar 2011, 18:05, Reply)
yay!
If you are stuck, just gaz me, but it should be easy if you do a bit at a time. Practise in Aperture priority mode for a bit, then shutter priority then the big one COMPLETE MANUAL - there be dragons
(, Wed 2 Mar 2011, 18:09, Reply)

Top man, Mr Stanley. Not just for the MDs, but (being a geek, see):
"The Wall of Sound is the ... powerful, extremely accurate PA system that ... did not need any delay towers to reach a distance of half a mile from the stage without degradation."

Yours goes up to eleven, eh? Not impressive.

Sorry to hear that old chap, not nice at all
Can I suggest that you avoid the job centre when looking for a new one...
(, Wed 2 Mar 2011, 18:11, Reply)
Nah, I volunteered for it
for various convoluted reasons but mostly because I'll probably never get as good a payout as I will now, since the Goobmint is hell bent on slashing terms and conditions like there's no tomorrow.

Also, Jobcentre - I know, I used to work in one.
(, Wed 2 Mar 2011, 18:13, Reply)
Sorry thought you still did/do/almost don't

(, Wed 2 Mar 2011, 18:21, Reply)
Nah, I'm in regeneration now.
The irony that I'm in a job I mostly love and yet am volunteering to leave in this current financial climate is not lost on me... However, I'm looking at it as a huge kick up the arse to try something different.
