It's not raining here either
and this is fucking Scotland. Admittedly, this is only a 30 second window of "not raining" but, let's be thankful, eh?
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 15:23, 1 reply, 15 years ago)
.....or summer as they call it up there

(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 15:24, Reply)
yeah, still. At least I can afford a massive city centre flat, booze and food, eh? ;)

(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 15:27, Reply)
Is that a battered,
deep fried, city centre flat?
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 15:29, Reply)
Oh, hell yeah.
with salt and sauce.
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 15:29, Reply)
Isn't it Edinburgh in which you live?
I thought property was quite expensive up there?
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 15:30, Reply)
It is. Don't listen to him.

(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 15:39, Reply)
Thought so.
A mate was at Napier in the early 90's and it was bloody expensive then.
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 15:44, Reply)
And it's got far worse since then.
A 'massive city centre flat' will set you back £500K.
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 15:49, Reply)
You're looking in the wrong place then
My 3 bed victorian job by the Botanics was 250k.
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 15:55, Reply)
Ah - by 'city centre' I was thinking New Town - Queen Street etc.

(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 16:00, Reply)
well that's 10 mins walk away. Princes St is 15.
I think I'm entitled to call that city centre ;)

That area is a fuck sight nicer than the New Town anyway.. IMO.
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 16:03, Reply)
I'm always amazed at how compact the city centre seems to be.
It's like an Escher print; you turn a corner and find yourself exactly where you were ten minutes ago.
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 16:08, Reply)
Dean Village always astounds me.
How you manage to fit a place like that between Gorgie and Stockbridge without anyone noticing is beyond me really.
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 16:10, Reply)
I used to live in Gorgie which is also a 15 minute walk from Princes Street
but it is a shitehole.
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 16:12, Reply)
Inverleith is very nice though.

(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 16:17, Reply)
relatively
it's still a fuck sight cheaper than when I was living in the south east. And more pleasant.
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 15:56, Reply)
I'd agree with you there.
I love Edinburgh.
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 16:00, Reply)
This^
Only good times have been had in Edinburgh
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 16:16, Reply)
We try to go up a few times a year.
£6 each way on the train and a day hauling around the pubs... cheaper than getting a taxi back from Morpeth that is.
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 16:19, Reply)

yeah, still. At least I can afford a massive city centre flat piss stained tenament still continaing the body of a dead skag head, booze turps and food turps, eh? ;)
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 15:30, Reply)
Neeps and tatties

(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 15:33, Reply)
*Nurps and turpies

(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 15:34, Reply)
how dare you.
I had the skaghead removed months ago.
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 15:58, Reply)
That's funny
I can only afford a 5 bedroom detached house, a BMW, a Focus, food and booze
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 15:34, Reply)
Oh, massive loss of points for the beamer there.

(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 15:55, Reply)
meh
Its a decent car
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 15:57, Reply)
It's like a clitoris
Cos every cunt's got one.
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 16:00, Reply)
No, that'll be the new Mini...

(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 16:02, Reply)
Nah, it has always been and will always be the Audi TT.

(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 16:03, Reply)
Stealing jokes from 1987 or something there
It was the Ford Clitoris, wasn't it?

I am the archetypal anti-BMW owner. I actually indicate (I know!) and let people out of side streets
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 16:03, Reply)
Yeah, but all the actual cunts who drove BMWs
now have Audis. So it's not a foolproof assertion any more.
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 16:09, Reply)
You must have slipped through the net
They usually weed you types out during the test drive
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 16:10, Reply)
I got wrong when test driving my RX-8
for overtaking an ambulance with its lights flashing on the coast road
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 16:13, Reply)
That's undoubtably true
but using as a counter-boast is opening yourself up to POOR FORM.
(, Tue 5 Apr 2011, 16:04, Reply)
True
