I was particularly impressed with that.

I try and match the pace of the songs and it knackers me out/puts me off.
Instead I just try and zone out - zen and the art of running, lol.

Pretty flowers in sunshine takes my mind off the burning pain in my thighs.
I do still listen to music when I run but had to take "The Island" by Pendulum off my playlist, it had the effect of making me run like a mentalist for 9 minutes and then suddenly realise I was dying.

I've made a playlist of appropriately-BPM'd songs, after a foolish shuffle endeavour left me knackered after some 160 BPM hardcore came on...

Yelling out "Hard! Core! Motherfucker!" in perfect unison

So this is rather plausible!

On a similar note, I ran 5 miles this morning for the first time since last summer so am feeling all proud of myself an' shit. Congrats on your rowing achievements too BGB :-)

I find 5'10" women who could batter the fuck out of me rather sexy. As you would know, if you met the missus

I've often thought this, if they put a zombie on a treadmill behind me I'd run a hell of a lot faster
(, Fri 8 Apr 2011, 8:49, Reply)
particularly as I have ridiculously short legs, I've never managed it before, and I was in the pub looking awesome within an hour of getting in.
(, Fri 8 Apr 2011, 8:45, Reply)
It takes me about 36 minutes to run 4 miles and I'm 5'11" so am gradually realising you're probably much fitter than me.
(, Fri 8 Apr 2011, 8:48, Reply)
It took me just shy of 38 minutes to run 4.34 miles. And I'm 5'3.
It was a personal best though; normally that would take me at least another 5-8 minutes.

That's good work honey. Thank you for the encouragement!

it was inevitable I'd beat him but I don't want to embarrass both of you...
(plus, I also cycle 6 miles a day which helps with the whole 'fitness' thing)

Although I don't think I can do the one on September 11th anyway now. I'd love to make a B3ta bash of a half-marathon but I'm guessing most of our lot are slovenly wretches
(, Fri 8 Apr 2011, 8:59, Reply)
Let's try and make a big thing of it. Any B3tan who doesn't participate gets called fat. BY YOU.

Currently I tend to stop after around 5km due to chafing of my HUMONGOUS GENITALIA. I suspect some proper shorts and an athletic support and some hydrocortisone cream would be wise purchases.

We all know you lined the inside of your velour sex dolls' vaginas with sandpaper, just so you could get purchase.

it's the weekend of the London tattoo convention which I was debating going down for anyway.

it takes me about 40 mins to run 5 miles and I'm supposed to be fit *collapses in hysterical laughter*
(, Fri 8 Apr 2011, 9:33, Reply)
it takes me that long to cycle 15 miles (though it is all hills)
Seriously impressed
(, Fri 8 Apr 2011, 9:10, Reply)
If you can cycle 15 hilly miles in 40 mins that's Tour de France pace. All depending on what you classify as a hill, of course ;)
(, Fri 8 Apr 2011, 9:33, Reply)
to cycle 15 hilly miles. Also, my running route is almost entirely flat.
(, Fri 8 Apr 2011, 9:35, Reply)
longer than 40 mins to cycle 15 hilly miles. I raced mountain bikes from the ages of 18 to about 25 and even then I'd have struggled to keep up that pace for much more than an hour or so. Mr Joe must be pretty fit.
(, Fri 8 Apr 2011, 9:38, Reply)
its 7.5 miles uphill 7.5 downhill When I am going down hill I can just about hit 40mph plus my bike is one of these and doesn't weigh a thing, mine is red and is therefore faster again. *edit* actually I haven't measured exactly the split between uphill and down hill but what I do know is that it seems just as hilly both ways so I am presuming its fairly even.
(, Fri 8 Apr 2011, 9:47, Reply)
Granted, from a personal point of view I'm basing it on riding a mountain bike and yours is a lovely shiny massively bent road job which is obviously quicker but that's still a decent pace, sir.
(, Fri 8 Apr 2011, 9:51, Reply)
what is massively bent is the lycra hahaha I deserve everything I get when I am wearing it. as you can see its massively filthy which reduces the bentness slightly
(, Fri 8 Apr 2011, 9:59, Reply)
I am in NO position to actually call bent on any of you. Except Darth, obviously.
Nice bike.
