OMG! Double rainbow!
there really is. I can see it, looks like the pot of gold is in port talbot, though, which seems unlikely.

I like storms and rainbows, what do you like?

My guinea pigs just got a mention on 6music!

woah! hoizontal lightning!

(, Mon 9 May 2011, 18:43, Reply)
You should have said your pigs were calling up 6 music as I'd have tuned in.

(, Mon 9 May 2011, 18:48, Reply)
they are getting pretty good at dialing, now
OMG! another double rainbow and IT'S CLOSER!
(, Mon 9 May 2011, 18:49, Reply)
It's just a bit windy where I am.
Have you got lots of rain as well?
(, Mon 9 May 2011, 18:55, Reply)
no, but I can see it coming, it'll be a few minutes

(, Mon 9 May 2011, 18:58, Reply)
Just heard two guinea pigs getting name-checked on 6
Well done!
(, Mon 9 May 2011, 18:50, Reply)
they don't respond to their names, yet
so they're pretty oblivious about it.

evening, TD

Evening QC
Don't think guinea pigs learn their names - we had quite a few when we were kids and they were pleasant but not too bright.

I picked my cats up from the cattery two hours ago and they've not stopped fussing over me since. It's nice to feel appreciated.
(, Mon 9 May 2011, 18:56, Reply)
awww
I once had a hamster who learned his name, that was weird and unexpected
(, Mon 9 May 2011, 18:58, Reply)
We had hamsters too and they were even thicker
The dogs are still at my sister's house and when I collect them tomorrow I'll be greeted like a long lost hero - I've only been away since Friday.

their density is part of their charm
aww, pets are awesome, people are sometimes shit, but pets are always happy when you get home. It's good to feel wanted...unless you are a criminal
(, Mon 9 May 2011, 19:07, Reply)
As I get older I get more misanthropic
I've missed my pets more than my friends this weekend.

Sadly the cats are in full moult mode at the moment and they keep jumping around me so I'm now covered in kitty fur.
(, Mon 9 May 2011, 19:19, Reply)
Yes but do the guinea pigs give a flying fuck?
Probably not
(, Mon 9 May 2011, 18:52, Reply)
no they do not
they can't see the rainbows from their cage
(, Mon 9 May 2011, 18:54, Reply)
Give them my regards

(, Mon 9 May 2011, 18:58, Reply)
ah, they love regards
they are their second favourite thing after carrots
(, Mon 9 May 2011, 18:59, Reply)
I love thunderstorms, very soothing.
My grandmother hates them though, reminds her of her rickety trailer, whenever there was a storm she'd sleep in my grandfathers truck*.

3/10 lacks moonshine

(, Mon 9 May 2011, 19:02, Reply)
My uncle drinks moonshine.
The first, and only, time I had it, he poured a bit into a pepsi bottle cap [was in the bottle, looks like water innit]. So I slurped it up and as soon as it hit my tongue my mouth went slack and I dribbled it all down my shirt.
(, Mon 9 May 2011, 19:08, Reply)
An excellent vintage then, what a waste

I bet you're thinking it's something like King of the Hill, where my body is like Hank, I dress like Luanne, and talk like Boomhauer

And grits
Grits are as tasty as they sound.
(, Mon 9 May 2011, 19:08, Reply)
I don't even eat grits.
*shuns*
(, Mon 9 May 2011, 19:09, Reply)
Good
I know you're Dixie, but grits are for the real desperados of the South.

For UK viewers - this is a bit like the North/South saveloy divide.
(, Mon 9 May 2011, 19:13, Reply)
I think it's for the dirt poor, my mom eats them sometimes but I think it's because she's used to the taste.
She was raised on them. Because her family was dirt poor.
(, Mon 9 May 2011, 19:19, Reply)
They're a breakfast option on most Amtrak services
"Hash browns or grits?"

You should try everything at least twice in this life, but once was enough for me and grits, thank you.
(, Mon 9 May 2011, 19:29, Reply)
I've just googled grits.
It doesn't sound very nice. I'd try it though.
(, Mon 9 May 2011, 19:32, Reply)
apparently butter and salt are the garnishes of choice when it comes to grits
I'll be honest and say I've never had them, but I just can't
they look bleurgh
(, Mon 9 May 2011, 19:34, Reply)
They're like dry, compressed weetabix dipped in sump oil.

(, Mon 9 May 2011, 19:35, Reply)
that description is a lot worse than I thought they would be
and so now, I shall NEVER try them
(, Mon 9 May 2011, 19:36, Reply)
I'll go with the hash-browns.

(, Mon 9 May 2011, 19:37, Reply)
I wish I'd not mentioned them
Partially because of the revoltingness of grits, but mainly because I can't have an Amtrak breakfast this year and have the option of saying no to grits.
(, Mon 9 May 2011, 19:47, Reply)
I like big butts and I cannot lie.

(, Mon 9 May 2011, 19:26, Reply)
I've got a 55 gallon one in the garden.
Big enough for you?
(, Mon 9 May 2011, 19:30, Reply)
Phwoar!

(, Mon 9 May 2011, 19:34, Reply)
It's dark green, if that helps your fantasies along. And plastic.

(, Mon 9 May 2011, 19:36, Reply)
I hope it's recyclable plastic.

(, Mon 9 May 2011, 19:37, Reply)
Well it recycles rainwater off the roof
There's actually some water in it today.
