Facepalm
Let's talk about moments that make you question your own ability to function properly as a human being.

I once texted a deaf boy lyrics to a song.

alt: Gigs, what was your favorite? Who do you want to see?
I'd like to see Lil Wayne. Oh yes.
(, Thu 9 Jun 2011, 18:03, 105 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
Could the deaf kid not read?

(, Thu 9 Jun 2011, 18:05, Reply)
yeah, but he'd hardly understand that it was a lyric and not something that I'd typically say as an individual
also, he once drove past me and honked his horn and I honked back
(, Thu 9 Jun 2011, 18:06, Reply)
What lyrics did you send him?

(, Thu 9 Jun 2011, 18:07, Reply)

I was utterly wasted
(, Thu 9 Jun 2011, 18:08, Reply)
I don't know anything by Rihanna other than that umbrella song.

My favourite gig was The Specials.

(, Thu 9 Jun 2011, 18:48, Reply)
I saw some of them play in Coventry at a gig in a small club I used to work in.
This was way after they were popular.
(, Thu 9 Jun 2011, 18:49, Reply)
I'd seen various version of The Specials but a couple of years ago on their anniversary tour
was the closest I'd come to seeing the original line-up.

I was voting in a 'search for a star' competition that some kids from my school were in. They won the heats (which is when I won a prize) and then came second in the final to a 6 year old singing 'Donald Where's Yer Trousers'

Alt: Metallica, Foo Fighters, Chimaira, System Of A Down, Heaven Shall Burn, Less Than Jake, or Incubus
They were all fucking amazing, I'd see them again in an instant.

Honourable mentions go to Obituary and Rammstein. Obituary because I'm sure I'd have enjoyed them more if I wasn't strung out from 4 days heavy drinking, and Rammstein because, while they were great, the fact we were seated ruined all atmosphere.
(, Thu 9 Jun 2011, 19:15, Reply)
Alt: Modest Mouse at the Fleece and Firkin
and Murderdolls, same venue as we saw them drinking in the pub next door beforehand.

The Carpenters in Blackpool when I was about 10 years old, so around the mid seventies.
I can still remember it and I still love their music.

In terms of my first gig (Motorhead)
it was pretty damn good, but probably the most fun I've had a gig was seeing Dir en Grey and MSI, good atmosphere, good bunch of people and a really fun night

I'm really looking forward to seeing Gackt.

The Music brought out a shit load of drums and they all did a massive number with just the drums and it was amazing.

I went to a golf themed restaurand the other day.
You had to eat each element of your meal in 4 mouthfuls.

It was par for the course.

(, Thu 9 Jun 2011, 20:19, Reply)
'par' is a golfing term for when you get the ball in the hole in the amount of hits the course says you should... which is noramly 4.

(, Thu 9 Jun 2011, 20:43, Reply)
I got that, I just thought that maybe you'd made a joke in your original post that I didn't get
