You could have an amazing three days in London if that's what you wanted to do, we could take you to awesome places and get you really drunk.
I'm going to New York for a long Weekend in October, so it's just the same sort of thing.

Yeah flight would be the same
but three weeks worth of hotel stays all over the country including sight seeing tours, trains, cabs, food, etc I'd have to save for years to be able to afford that

you could stay in a hostel for virtually no money. And the Dollar is loads stronger against the pound at the moment.

gaz riverghost. He runs a hostel somewhere in London.
(, Mon 20 Jun 2011, 21:37, Reply)
but hostels just sound like the place you go to get robbed and/or murdered
(, Mon 20 Jun 2011, 21:39, Reply)
how much money do you think I'd need?
like $500 spending cash?

A Tayyabs is going to set you back about £20 plus a fiver for 6 cans of polish lager. Then You'll want three one day travel cards for zones 1-4, so that'll be another £20. And you'll want at least £50 for boozing it up, and you need to have a traditional Sunday Roast, which will be about a tenner, then you'll need two or three full english breakfasts, which will be about a fiver each.

"Momma, I'm jist goin' out ter git twenny tayyabs."
"You come beck here raght naow Billuh Bob! I'll not hayave you smokin' yer filthy tayyabs in mah haouse, it's a siyyin against our Lord Jesus!"

It's all students and hippies. Sure you could get robbed but not murdered.

I'm such a worrier, it's horrible, I'm already worrying about getting robbed and/or murdered and I don't even have money saved let alone a passport
(, Mon 20 Jun 2011, 21:44, Reply)
and never, ever had a problem. Never felt uncomfortable, or unsafe. And they are tremendous value for money - after all, when you visit another country, you're hardly going to spend any time there apart from to sleep. So as long as it has a decent bed and a decent shower, who gives a shit - why pay more than you have to?

Stop fretting. Poppett seemed to do Ok while travelling and as far as I know she didn't get murdered or robbed once.
(, Mon 20 Jun 2011, 21:46, Reply)
flew out on Friday and went back on the Sunday evening. I had a great time but I really should have made at least a week of it.
Plus I had a healthy income but was still living at home then so I could do stupid expensive things on a whim.
You should talk to Poppet, she crashed with B3tans and they only raped and stabbed her a little bit.
(, Mon 20 Jun 2011, 21:49, Reply)
I'm just going to stop talking about it because the more I talk the more I'm discouraged and the less I want to even bother with it.
(, Mon 20 Jun 2011, 21:50, Reply)
and even if you decide not to make it to England, you'll have the money to go somewhere nice
(, Mon 20 Jun 2011, 21:52, Reply)
You should totally do it, you'll have a great time, even if you didn't meet a single b3tan you'll still love London.

You would have a ball over here. As soon as any of us wins teh lottery, I'm sure that person will fly you straight over here.
(, Mon 20 Jun 2011, 22:15, Reply)
If I won the lottery I certainly wouldn't come now
(, Mon 20 Jun 2011, 22:18, Reply)
Given that he cost of the flights would be the same if K came here for longer.

Moving the Clifton Suspension bridge won't be a problem, what with me being a local.
Apparently all Bristolians get to borrow the bridge once, just to show it off to visiting 'Mericans.

you would know that she wasn't trying to see the UK in 3 days, just spend 3 days in the best bit i.e. London.
Now stop trying to put her off.
(, Mon 20 Jun 2011, 22:27, Reply)
I will, however, take the useless spastic twat comment on board. I need reminding now and again.
(, Mon 20 Jun 2011, 22:32, Reply)
And I'll be sure to remind you that you've fallen out with your old man.
*Reminder high-fives!*

All I said was I didn't know where I wanted to go or what I wanted to do
Because who really cares about me planning my trip other than myself, I'll keep it to myself from now on
(, Mon 20 Jun 2011, 22:39, Reply)
because if you're coming to London I'd love to meet you.
(, Mon 20 Jun 2011, 22:39, Reply)
We can help you avoid some of the potential pitfalls!
Don't think I was trying to discourage you from coming over to the UK, I was just under the impression that you wanted to see various bits of it, not just London. If all you do want to see is the capital, then do it!
(, Mon 20 Jun 2011, 22:40, Reply)
Six years on, we're like sisters, and we try to see each other at least once a year.
You can meet some right nice people online.
