Defrosting veggie burgers, old tomatoes, a furry carrot and some curry paste
I'm moving out today
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:39, Reply)
Awwww, the saddest day of any students calendar.

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:41, Reply)
Apart from 'results day'...

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:55, Reply)
Nah, they aren't as bad anymore
You get a nice little text saying 'All Clear!', and it's really nice.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:16, Reply)
Whatever I pick up from Sainsbury's, probably. Sod Gregg's.
Nothing I can think of right now, nothing too bad is happening in my life. The bad stuff has mostly been taken care of, with one exception, and he will be dealt with shortly.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:40, Reply)
Is the new lodger male / female/ darthish?
One of these options would be good, the others would be bad.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:40, Reply)
it's male
not only that but it's the worst kind, a middle-aged engineer

fortunately he'll keep to himself much of the time and apparently lives almost entirely on microwave meals, so won't even be clogging up my kitchen. He's not with us at the weekends either which is a blessing.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:42, Reply)
I expect he'll hog your broadband though.
Set the filters up to high, so he goes to sleep early.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:44, Reply)
haha
good thinking
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:45, Reply)
Bad : Friday is a long boring train journey to London.
Good: Gonz cooking food for us in the evening.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:41, Reply)
Are you sure he's not just ordering RIBS from the diner down the road?

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:42, Reply)
Positive.
He's going to the fish market on Friday.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:42, Reply)
Remind him
or your meal will be served out of foil trays.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:44, Reply)
Are you implying that as a reward for cooking you're going to let him "dine at the Y"?

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:44, Reply)
That's standard practice with Blousie.
Or was just with me?
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:46, Reply)
Haha! filthy!

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:49, Reply)
Will you have a lodger when you're getting married?
Will they be invited to the wedding?
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:41, Reply)
yes
fuck no
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:42, Reply)
I have Asda piri-piri chicken in a bag
I removed my Asda virginity last night, it was huge and I got loads of stuff.

I just bought a TV for my new place, get a load of that saving. I feel so cheap.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:43, Reply)
I'm fairly sure that's the same TV I have
it's good
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:45, Reply)
Huzzah
I was won over by the price (reduction) and it seems to have all the features of all the TVs I've been looking at.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:17, Reply)
I like Samsaugs and LGs, they look good to my untrained eye.
Only thing I'd say about getting that telly though is that it's The Labryinth's 25 aniversary this week, so if I was gonna get that telly, I'd buy Labyinth of bluray so I can watch it on the new telly in really good quality.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:55, Reply)
god yes I love Bowie so much
he's such a talented actor with a tremendous range.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:07, Reply)
He's considerably better at acting than he is at singing and writing songs.
I actually like 'The Man Who Fell to Earth' quite a lot.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:08, Reply)
he's not wholly awful as Tesla in The Prestige

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:11, Reply)
That I have not seen

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:15, Reply)
it's not bad
I wish I'd read the book first though, because the book is excellent.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:16, Reply)
The last of my Pork & Apple curry, only had a small portion though, still hungry.
Might nip to Subway and get a cookie...

Good: I'm at Sonisphere next weekend, woo!
Bad: It's going to cost me the fucking earth.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:54, Reply)
Who are you hoping to see at Sonisphere?

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:08, Reply)
These are the bands I want to see, there are only a few who I really can't wait to see (bold)
Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, Hayseed Dixie, Diamond Head, Killing Joke, Weezer, Bad Religion, Sum 41, Sylosis, Sisters Of Mercy, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, Motorhead, Parkway Drive, Mastodon, Arch Enemy, Volbeat, Airbourne, and Fozzy
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:14, Reply)
I would fucking love to see Diamond Head
I am envious of that

Saw Limp Bizkit the year before last. I liked them a lot in my youth, and yet found them to be fucking terrible. Really fucking terrible.

Airbourne are thoroughly entertaining, as are Hayseed Dixie. Metallica and Slayer will be ace too.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:16, Reply)
LB are excruciatingly bad.

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:16, Reply)
they were even worse than I expected live

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:17, Reply)
Was there a giant lavatory involved?
I thought Cypress Hill's 'giant bongs' were bad...
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:19, Reply)
Limp Bizkit are on there simply because I've never seen them live, caught them at Download (on the live stream), and was very impressed.
I'm hoping to hear The Big 4 plus Diamond Head perform 'Am I Evil?' too, that'd be huge.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:18, Reply)
Diamond Head have got a bunch of great songs
seriously though, Limp Bizkit were fucking dreadful live when I saw them. Might just have been his voice I guess.

I can take or leave Anthrax, but the other 3 are going to be marvellous.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:20, Reply)
I'm not a big Slayer fan tbh, but the thought of those 5 bands one after another is simply magnificent.

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:22, Reply)
I wasn't a big Slayer fan
but they totally rocked.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:25, Reply)
My brother has an excellent DVD of theirs.
Most impressive.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:27, Reply)
I can't deny the fact that their music is anything but fantastic
But the lack of crowd interaction is something I'm never happy with
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:28, Reply)
You'll piss yourself at the Sisters of Mercy - Andrew Eldritch looks like Gary Glitter these days.
I've ruined them for you now. Ha ha.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:16, Reply)
The alternatives are Biffy Clyro, The Mars Volta, Watain and Black Spiders
No thanks, no thanks, fuck off, and no thanks.

Sisters of Mercy it is.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:19, Reply)
I'd go see one of the first two

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:20, Reply)
Biffy are very plain nowadays, I find.
And I've never been a fan of Mars Volta.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:21, Reply)
fair enough

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:25, Reply)
Have you seen Motorhead before?

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:17, Reply)
Sadly not, am looking forward to them greatly.

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:18, Reply)
They are simply superb. Miss them at your peril.

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:19, Reply)
Irritatingly, they look like they might be colliding with Airbourne
It's a no-brainer there, I'll be at Motorhead. But I'll be disappointed to miss Airbourne, have you ever heard any of their stuff?
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:21, Reply)
if I remember correctly
because the two big stages are near each other they don't have bands on at the same time. It's only stuff on the smaller stages that might clash
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:26, Reply)
I really hope so
As that means I might also get to see Hayseed Dixie...
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:27, Reply)
Seen them at the Astoria - they do a great live show.

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:27, Reply)
when I saw them the singer climbed one of the outlying speaker stands, in the pissing rain
with a guitar strapped to his back.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:29, Reply)
Salad.
Mozzarella, mixed baby leaves, chives, red onion, tomatoes, mint, coriander and balsamic dressing. Despite the absence of MEAT it's just the ticket.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:54, Reply)
The lack of things that once walked in there just makes that look unappealing.
Same with any sandwiches, I feel.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:55, Reply)
yeah, but you are a disgusting fatbody

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:55, Reply)
So you're saying you disagree?

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:56, Reply)
I am
I like meat, but things can be delicious without it
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:57, Reply)
Some things can be, yes
But salads or sandwiches? No thanks.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:00, Reply)
I put it to you that marmite is not meat

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:05, Reply)
I second this.

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:07, Reply)
You make a very good point here, and as such I consider myself incorrect.

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:15, Reply)
It's a big man who can admit when he's wrong.
it's a stupid man who eats marmite.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:18, Reply)
It's an even stupider man who breaks a chair, falls asleep, and gets drawn on.

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:22, Reply)
We're none of us exactly rocket scientists

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:25, Reply)
I'm pretending the mozzarella is the 'meat' - it's nearly working.

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:59, Reply)
good job
you should consider grilling some halloumi to have with it instead.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:00, Reply)
Were I anywhere near a grill (and had not done that for dinner last night) I certainly should.

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:02, Reply)
you could do it in advance

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:06, Reply)
Would it not go all squeaky and horrible?

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:06, Reply)
I'm not sure
possibly
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:07, Reply)
It's even better fried than grilled. Light dusting of flour and off you go.
This can be enhanced with a few flecks of chilli in the oil.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:09, Reply)
I will bear this in mind
not sure what I'm having for dinner tonight, so may go down the wraps, halloumi, salad and falafel route
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:09, Reply)
I bought a dried falafel mix from the Yid section of Sainsbo's - it was really pretty fucking good.

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:11, Reply)
I've used that before, it is good
much cheaper than buying ready made ones as well.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:11, Reply)
I was going to make giant falafel burgers with it.
I appear to have forgotten about that plan until now.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:12, Reply)
not sure I'd bother
it's all about maximising surface area to volume ratio.
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:14, Reply)
Perhaps this was the conclusion I came to.

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:20, Reply)
Balls FTW

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:27, Reply)
Are you also pretending the 'mixed baby leaves' are in actual fact, 'white, anglo saxon baby leaves'?

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:20, Reply)
Hahaha

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:20, Reply)
I've got a headache and a ten foot tall hedge to trim.
Uuuggghhhhhhhhhhhh.

alt: bad would be this stupid fucking hedge I have to cut down, it's not just a hedge, it's about 25ft long and made of hatred
good would be being able to get in my friends pool tonight and relax

good, being able to hang at my friend house and take my dog
bad, having dog drool on brand new suede couch
(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 12:58, Reply)
you should try waxing.

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:02, Reply)
Yeah K, 'Miyagi' that minge.

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:06, Reply)
I might just miyagi both your faces in a mo

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:08, Reply)
Wax off.

(, Wed 29 Jun 2011, 13:10, Reply)
*whacks off*
