just asked me for reasons that I hate Americans. She seems to think that most people hate them just because everyone else does.
So, why do you hate Americans?
Alt: Why's America the fucking greatest country in the world? USA! USA! USA! USA! ect.

And I find it mildly entertaining that you've just threadstomped an American to ask this.

They refer to Merkins as Septics. As in Septic Tank - Yank.

Although my dad's not an Aussie and he says that too.

Because I asked if they were septics. I had to explain that it was rhyming slang and had nothing to do with what the actual word means, then I was forced to give examples whilst extremely pissed infront of the six or so aforementioned shaven head and huge ex Marines. Great days.

no additions. I think that sums it up. Calling big hard bastards anything is a risky move, calling them something stupid and easily misconstrued is just fucking stupid.

Seeing as it's something that comes completely naturally to me and if I can say it to six ex Marines and get off scot free, who the fuck else is going to stop me?

but if you call me a septic I'll punch you in your gizzard

I just watched a quick documentary about snakes. It was Sir Dave don't you know.
I'll tell you why I hate them, beacuse they're bloody nagging gingers. That's why.

Individual Americans are fine but as a country they are fucking annoying.
At the moment the thing that's most annoying me is keeping having to tell Chrome that words are spelled with an "s" not a "z", combined with the awful realisation (another word Chrome insists should be spelled with a z)that soon their way of spelling things will become standard the world over.
(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 16:20, Reply)
I wasn't, you have my permission to be as illiterate as you like, the fact that most software wants me to misspell things according to the the whims of your countrymen, however, this I find annoying, especially as I rely on spell check so much.
(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 16:38, Reply)
I, along with the other billions of people in America, were taught to spell this way.
(, Wed 13 Jul 2011, 16:50, Reply)
now we come to a choice if we are being humourously cunty go for answer A if we are having a genuine conversation then B
A) you can't help coming from a country of illiterate retards
B) Either way of spelling is equally valid and TBH US spelling is probably more 'original' in most cases. My problem is I had to work very hard to learn spell things right, and even then I still need a spell checker to avoid sounding like Gonz and it annoys me that the thing I rely on to help me spell right is telling me to spell things, that I've actually remembered to how to spell, wrong.

And mine is probably all over the place, mostly due to trying to type like I speak, but also due to crapness.

Which is clearly a made-up place. Probably on BBC Four.

I think the majority of people that actually think about it don't like the difference between America "the brand" freedom, democracy, justice and liberty that they sell overseas with what they tend to do, which is protectionism, aggressive capitalism and competition, self interest and secrecy.

but not for anyone who needs help from the IMF which they basically control.
(Europe are just as guilty of this)

Same as most countries, I suspect, it's just that the number of USians who leave the US then call everything "quaint" (metaphirically speaking , at least), or think Paris is the capital of Eurostan, or think that Europeans all speak German is moderately high, so the general impression is bad.
I'm English, so I "Hate The French" -- doesn't mean I have any less respect for my French colleagues than I do for any others, it's just a culture clash.
Heck, being English I cook and eat shit food, never complain about anything, love to queue more than almost anything, have very bad teeth (true), drink far too much (true) and, apparently, am a lapdog to America.
Thinking about it, though, the US does seem to have a much wider range of intellects education and cultural awareness than anywhere else I've been -- probably their RMS "CLEVERNESS" is harmed by this.
