For those people that go running regularly.
How the fuck do you stop your legs from killing before you go out again? Did five miles today and I want to do that every morning, but I know as soon as I get a hundred yards tomorrow my legs are going to be in unimaginable pain.

don't
do it ever other morning

That will impinge on my weight loss strategy, though.
I might run the five miles one day, and walk the dog the same route the next.

take it easy baz
because some injuries take a fucking age to get over and you feel shitty and frustrated because of it.

What kind of surface are you running on by the way?

Just pavement. I used to use treadmills but they make me want to kill myself.

(, Fri 29 Jul 2011, 22:28, Reply)
yeah ease off on that
I made that mistake once. I ran on concrete for months, then on a treadmill for a few weeks, then back to concrete running the same way I did on the treadmill. It ballsed my knee up for about 6 weeks.

I think to get the best out of exercise
you need to leave different muscles for different times after, before exercising them again.

stretch
and ease yourself into it, start slow etc

also, stretch when done...

Better shoes lad
I used to run a bit and if your legs are fucked it's your shoes.

good point

Really?
My feet are fine I've just got a dull ache in my legs, not now but it'll flare up tomorrow when I start again. I've got proper running shoes n'all.
(, Fri 29 Jul 2011, 22:26, Reply)
Proper what running shoes?
Proper track running shoes aren't the same as proper pavement running shoes.

If you're feeling it in your calf muscles it'll be shoes.

I have no idea.
They're pretty much identical to these; www.ck-sport24.de/shop_cfg/cksport24/adidas-Laufschuhe-Resp-Cushion-16-2.jpg

I don't know these days
But you need a very resiliant sole for road running.

The trouble is that if you go to JJB Sports or similar they're just fat salesmen. You need to buy from a proper running shop.

I wear these

for all my running, works for me.
(, Fri 29 Jul 2011, 22:50, Reply)
Seriously?
I fancy a pair of them if you're being serious.

stretch after
press ball of foot against kerb so leg and foot makes a tick mark for about 10 seconds, then do the other leg.

Touch arse with heel, grab ankle, hold for 10 seconds, do same with other leg.

job done.
