AOB?
Any other business. Missed a previous OT thread (like PD did the other day when he wanted to reply to something that meant he'd be able to reference The Bruce) and got something you want to add?

Alt: Natter.

It's a massive Jimmer as well you know it.
A personal old favourite to counter the old 'I read somewhere...' statement is always 'Oh yeah? Where'd you read that? 'Jimmy Hill's Bumper Book of Facts'?'

I saw a trailer for Treasure Island the other day with Eddie Izzard as Silver, while I'll wager you think he's 'fucking shit' It actually made me want to get sky.
(, Tue 6 Dec 2011, 22:06, Reply)
Oh God no.
That book is a masterpiece. Izzard should be exterminated. A more affected and self-consciously 'ooh I'm so random and tangental' turd is perhaps impossible to find. Hang on, 'Noel Fielding'.
(, Tue 6 Dec 2011, 22:10, Reply)
I knew it.
He makes me laugh, but some to think of it his acting is terrible. STill TI is overdue a modern remake. I might try and download it at some point as I do like a good bit of pirate, but then I like Noel Fielding too.

Spacemen 3?
Do you mean as in Jason Spaceman and Sonic Boom, or is this a Pierce free Spacemen 3?

On a lighter note, Lord can You Hear Me? is one of my favourite songs ever.
(, Tue 6 Dec 2011, 22:07, Reply)
No Pierce - and he wasn't missed to be honest.
It was amazing.
(, Tue 6 Dec 2011, 22:10, Reply)

Then again, Spiritualized do Spacemen 3 songs, so it all works out. The order of greatness of the versions of Lord Can You Hear Me? goes Spacemen 3, Low, Spiritualized.

If you want to name a shit MC then Chuck D(eacon) would be a fair call. Sanctimonious, monotone and dull as piss - their beats were so good few noticed.

I know what Chuck D's limitations as an MC are, but it doesn't negate how great PE were.
Run DMC were just wiggidy wack though. Doubly so when that piss poor 'house' remix of It's Like That made Jeff take notice of them, back in 1997.

You have it the wrong way round, old boy.
Both bands had it in their live repertoire before The Kingsmen had a hit with it. The Sonics and Wailers were kind of brother bands in the way the MC5 and The Stooges were, swapping band members and playing together in the Tacoma area.
