Hi there!
How are you doing?
What's new around here?
Is there still anyone in this board who I've met?
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 20:11, 106 replies, latest was 13 years ago)
A stripper died on a different day to the day that she actually (may) have died. The CIA and FBI are involved in the whole coverup
I've been waiting bloody ages for the next exciting development
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 20:29, Reply)
alright Rory?

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 20:32, Reply)
Alrite pd, what's been happening round here. The popular page is usually more insightful

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 20:40, Reply)
I think the popular page pretty much sums it up.

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 20:43, Reply)
Meh, It's usually fucking shit anyway

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 20:47, Reply)
On /talk back in the day, saying "the popular page is shit" was a dead-cert way to get onto the popular page.
You had to call it "shit" though. No other derogatory term was accepted.

Wynohs meltdown was at least something
I love a meltdown

Your leg stopped working
How? Why?

We're fine, recovering from a cold but doing great.

I youtubed Shellac this morning.

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 20:53, Reply)
Good call
Although I'm sure Albini would prefer you to seek them out on wax cylinder.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 20:54, Reply)
Which makes it all the more Albiniesque that I defied him.
Do you know that he's a poker player?
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 20:59, Reply)
Yeah, there was a link a while back (in the newsletter?)
Where he offered to answer any question on some online poker forum.
It was a fairly entertaining read before he started getting annoyed about non-poker players having got wind of it.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:02, Reply)
I am watching Heat.

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:04, Reply)
Isn't that a celebrity magazine?

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:07, Reply)
Your mum's a celebrity magazine.

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:16, Reply)
She totally is
I can't look at her without seeing minor celebrities looking a bit fat or actresses doing their shopping without the full make-up they wear in their day jobs. And just the other day she paid someone I'd never heard of a small fortune to take photos of their living room.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:22, Reply)
The Michael Mann film.

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:19, Reply)
Michael Mann made a film based on a celebrity magazine?

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:22, Reply)
Is Michael Mann a celebrity?

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:26, Reply)
Michael Mann is your mum.

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:28, Reply)
He totally is
He's always making autobiographical films about his life as a celebrity magazine and I'm all like, mum can't you just be a normal mother and grandmother?
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:39, Reply)
Yes.
It is very stylish.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:27, Reply)
But I'm back
I don't know for how long, though, I can't make any promises.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:16, Reply)
How are you doing Aber?
Adjusted to life with a baby yet?
/mumsnetthread
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:17, Reply)
Fuck off back to ... oh.

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:19, Reply)
There are days and days
Life would be easier if he slept naps and didn't require someone talking to him all the time.

How are you?
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:19, Reply)
Have you tried leaving a dictaphone next to it?
Do you talk to it in Spanish?
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:22, Reply)
I've tried the TV
and it doesn't work for long, he likes seeing someone in front of him.

Yes, I speak Spanish to him, and sing in Spanish too.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:24, Reply)
Good stuff. I wish I'd been brought up Bilingual.
And failing that I wish I'd been given a basic grasp of English Grammar so that I would find it easier to learn foreign languages.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:25, Reply)
Yes, Mark says the same all the time
Lucas will be brought up trilingual with a bit of luck, and he'll be teaching us Mandarin in no time.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:27, Reply)
What's the third language?

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:28, Reply)
Mandarin
We're moving to Shanghai in a few months.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:30, Reply)
Holy shit.
I hope that goes well for you.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:32, Reply)
Me too
I'm looking forward to it, although I'm nervous as well.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:35, Reply)
Doing ok
My tiny tangle is four months old today and is considerably easier to deal with than her brother ever was.
You'll be fine, it gets easier...
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:25, Reply)
Is that because you gaffa taped her to a stick?

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:25, Reply)
You have to go with what works

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:27, Reply)
Four months is a good time
Starting to do more funny things, and asking for solids, I suppose.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:29, Reply)
She is lovely right now
Grinning and giggling all the time and being fascinated and highly amused by her brother.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:41, Reply)
That sounds so sweet
I wish we could meet and introduce the babies to each other, I bet they'd enjoy it.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:45, Reply)
They might
Other babies are often entertaining. And bigger children are utterly mesmerising.
On the other hand, they could be entirely indifferent to one another.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:58, Reply)
He quite enjoys
looking at other babies and has started trying to play with them too. It's really cute.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 22:00, Reply)
*yawn*
And in the adult world....
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 22:04, Reply)
Really?
We're starting to ask ourselves if and when we want another... Lucas never stops, never; and it gets very tiring. We don't know if it's better to give him a sibling as soon as possible, or wait until we can handle him.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:29, Reply)
Well there are six years between my two...
I think there are pros and cons for both small and large age gaps.
You'll be ready when you are ready. It's a bit early to worry about it.
Generally speaking I think siblings are a good idea though.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:36, Reply)
Yeah,
we won't be bringing another baby to the world just yet, it's just that this one is so tiring...

I have 2 siblings and I think it was great growing up with them, even if my sister and I were fighting all the time.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:42, Reply)
If you think he's tiring now
Imagine trying to look after him while pregnant.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:45, Reply)
Yes, I know
That's what puts me off, especially as I had such a bad pregnancy.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:46, Reply)
Just enjoy your current one for now
There is plenty of time to think about siblings. And I think you've got enough to concern yourself with if you are moving across the world.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:49, Reply)
Yes, that is true
Hopefully he'll soon be able to entertain himself a bit and I'll get some time to relax (or cook, clean, pack...)
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:53, Reply)
No, sorry
Your life is over now.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:55, Reply)
Hahaha
That made me chuckle. I imagine you're right and I'll have to get used to it.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:57, Reply)
Hello lovely!

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 20:51, Reply)
Hello, sexy
How's your life going?
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:16, Reply)
Good thank you!
Had a nice long weekend two weeks in a row, just not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow, boo.

How are you and yours?
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:20, Reply)
Going back to work...
I've forgotten what that sentence means.

We're doing well. Lucas had a bit of a cold, but he's doing much better.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:25, Reply)
Ahh, I can imagine!
Ahh, good good, glad to hear he's doing well
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 23:00, Reply)
Hi Aber
OT's sunk. Just the last few rats clinging onto a roughly-made raft bobbing in the gentle swell of the South Pacific. The burning sun beats down on those left alive. It can be only a matter of time before we expire from thirst or turn to cannibalism. PD will be the last to go. Not much eatin' on him.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 20:52, Reply)
or it's easter

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 20:54, Reply)
Don't be ludicrous.

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 20:55, Reply)
This is true.

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:00, Reply)
That sounds sad
I remember the days, the good old days... I wish I could bring them back, boy.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:17, Reply)
Kroney's good old days involved a freshly frozen turd in a fetherlite condom.

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:19, Reply)
That sounds disgusting
Do you think he's got pictures?
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:25, Reply)
we know he does
He keeps them on his computer ordered by date and cross referenced by size of poo.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:30, Reply)
Beautiful
That way he can go back to his memories without trouble.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:31, Reply)
Does he use the Bristol Stool Chart?

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:32, Reply)
He uses your mum

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:40, Reply)
She is very organised
When she is not busy making films about being Micheal Mann the celebrity magazine.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:43, Reply)
I'm here.
Not that any of you care.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:52, Reply)
EMOOOOOOOO!

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:56, Reply)
I don't want you to care.
You long streak of piss.

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:57, Reply)
Did your football team do what you wanted today?
Did I see you mention they were playing my local team?
Keep it brief, I don't really care about football.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 22:04, Reply)
Yes and yes.
Long story short. Bristol City beat Coventry.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 22:09, Reply)
Perfectly succinct.
From what I understand Coventry are well used to defeat.
More importantly: beer or bed?
(for me, I mean)
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 22:13, Reply)
I'm gonna have one more and then hit the hay.

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 22:18, Reply)
Yeah, that was what I settled on.
I still have the second side of this record to listen to, so I may as well have a beer with it.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 22:24, Reply)
I'm watching BBC1

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 22:29, Reply)
Is this a new channel?

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 22:30, Reply)
I hope so.
It has men on it. Men kicking a ball about, and I've not needed to pay Rupert anything to see it.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 22:34, Reply)
Fuck off back to SKySports.com
Evenin' Jeffers.

Baby talk certainly took over b3ta tonight
In a way that would surely not be tolerated in busier periods
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 22:41, Reply)
My Mrs (another non-football fan) reckons that MotD is the perfect TV programme
As they only show the interesting bits and then some experts talk about it. She thinks more TV programmes should follow this format.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 22:39, Reply)
What other should could get away with this?
Surely only 'the news' comes close.

Tell Mrs Tangles I'll be around on Wednesday, as arranged and this time, I won't wipe my cock clean on the curtains.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 22:42, Reply)
Don't ask me, the woman is clearly an idiot.
Mind yourself, Venetian blinds tend to be a bit slicy on the cock.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 22:45, Reply)
I'll be careful.
The japs-eye is the only eye i've got on my nob.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 22:47, Reply)

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 22:05, Reply)
Anyone still awake?
I has hot chocolate
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 23:12, Reply)
I has red wine
This should hopefully counter the fact I has work to do.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 23:15, Reply)
shit
forgot about that. I'm sure I could get it all done in two days :/

you should do work while half cut on red wine
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 23:16, Reply)
Unfortunately I don't have enough wine to get half-cut
(Probably just as well, as I've got a student coming first thing tomorrow morning) But it's enough to take the edge off it
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 23:19, Reply)
Aber!
