Morning fella, how are we?

(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 9:45, Reply)
Shite
But thanks for asking. You?
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 9:47, Reply)
Not too bad thanks
Had a healthy day yesterday, noodle dish for dinner, gym session, vegetable omelette for tea, no booze.

Might kill myself today, that'd be more fucking interesting.

Gym session eh?
Going well?
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 9:49, Reply)
Not too badly
Starting to notice a little definition, but it's still hidden below rolls of fat. Just embarrassing that my legs are getting stronger, but my arms are still weak as shit.
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 9:51, Reply)
That happens, just take it slow and steady
Something I've heard many times before, just not as softly-spoken.
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 9:55, Reply)
Aye, I know
Just bothers me how quickly one thing is improving compared to the rest.
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 9:57, Reply)
boring gym thread is boring.

(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 9:59, Reply)
Made slightly more interesting when you look at who it is actually talking about the gym
1 ex-fattie, 1 ballroom queerbo, and me (slowly but surely improving, and losing fat)

The Unusual Suspects fo' sho'
Not sure what your routine is, but I've found pull-ups work well to build the arms up. I plan on joining a gym when I move to London, and will be following the Starting Strength routine, if you know of it.
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 10:04, Reply)
you should all take up pole
my everything is amazing.
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 10:07, Reply)
Shame about your face though.

BOOM

My stupid pole teacher is too busy to come to mine
Thinking of doing Chinese Pole classes in London though.
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 10:17, Reply)
Awesome. Chinese pole is terrifying.
I could do video lessons for you haha

May well start doing pull ups then
Anything that can help will be appreciated. The only thing I tend to do in regards to my own bodyweight is tricep dips.
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 10:10, Reply)
The only average-priced gym near me is always rammed
So I do bodyweight exercises too like pull-ups, press-ups, dips, straight leg raises, planks etc. Starting Strength is by a guy called Rippletoe, and you can find a book online that details everything, but it essentially boils down to doing barbell squats, bench presses, deadlifts etc. Compound lifts, essentially.
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 10:15, Reply)
The one I'm at is £25 a month, run by an ex body builder, who is always more than willing to give advice
He's written me up a program, might ask him to change it a little, help me find ways of strengthening my arms.
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 10:22, Reply)
Sounds good!
Like I said, compound lifts, but take it dead slow and get him or a mate to check your form.
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 10:27, Reply)
I do something called concentration curls
Slow movements with a low weight, after 10 on each arm I feel like they're going to fall off.

Evil things.
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 10:36, Reply)
They do sound evil!
I do progression pull-ups, so going from assisted, to half, to full, to assisted 1-handed, to 1 handed. I'm working on assisted 1-handed now, and they're killers.
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 10:44, Reply)
ok I said this was dull and shit but I feel compelled to advise you to get a pull up bar.
Mine was a tenner in sainsbury's and it's the best thing I've ever bought (that wasn't cheesecake). You can do different kinds of pull ups, stomach crunches and handstands on it. Ok I'm done, continue being boring.
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 10:22, Reply)
Cheers, shall take your advice!

(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 10:26, Reply)
No, not remotely interesting
Ex fatties are the worst for going into great detail about how well they're doing at the gym. No one cares, go on Loose Women.
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 10:07, Reply)
I regularly do.

(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 10:10, Reply)
I had the same problem when I started out
Well, I still do, my arms have only attained the level of "weak as badly-made tea"
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 9:58, Reply)
Me too
oh no wait, I'm awesome.
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 9:59, Reply)
It probably helps that you look like you weigh nothing.

(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 10:01, Reply)
HAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!!
It's funny because she's spherical.
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 10:04, Reply)
