He just needs a tight hug.
Everythings better with a hug, it reminds him of his time in the straightjacket.
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:14, Reply)
I can't quite express in words why I find Gonzo to be creepy and sinister
I'm astounded that people tolerate the tedious simpleton

it really is like having a village idiot round here
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:17, Reply)
If he's guilty of anything, it's just caring too much
With his cheeky little smile and funny spellings.
How can you NOT love Gonz?
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:18, Reply)
because he's a creepy retard

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:19, Reply)
He's always been FRIGHTFULLY lovely to me
Maybe you two just got off on the wrong foot?
You should meet and start over
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:24, Reply)

it seems like an awful waste
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:59, Reply)
Probably the same as last year.

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 11:59, Reply)
Nothing.
Will get a card for my wife on behalf of our daughter.

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:08, Reply)
Daffs or tulips, I guess.
Stupid nothing holiday.
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:02, Reply)
Couldn't afford to start sending bunches of flowers up and down the country
so I sent her a packet of seeds in her card, so she can grow her own.

Sweet peas. Her dad used to grow them. They make her proper sentimental.
Brownie points for me, I feel. The other two are making her a Sunday roast dinner.
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:04, Reply)
I sent your mum a packet of my seeds too.

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:05, Reply)
well played

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:09, Reply)

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:13, Reply)
Should have given her some scissors and told her to steal some from a neighbour.

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:06, Reply)
There aren't any flowers in Scotland.

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:09, Reply)
Thistles count!

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:10, Reply)
Isn't there a song about one?

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:10, Reply)
Yeah, but the song is mostly moaning that there isn't one any more
So b3thers is spot on, really.
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:11, Reply)
Ah OK

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:11, Reply)
I'm actually quite surprised the song doesn't specifically blame the English for nicking their flower.

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:13, Reply)
Actually, now I think about it, I suppose it kind of does.

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:14, Reply)
I have no idea what song you're talking about.

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:16, Reply)
"Flower of Scotland"
It's pretty hard to miss, what with it being the unofficial Scottish National anthem.
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:17, Reply)
I only ever been to scotland once.
It was windy, that's all I remember.
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:18, Reply)
Pretty sure it is all about fighting the English
And not at all about flowers.
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:19, Reply)
Yes, it's about the death of a nation's brave youth or sutin.
I was just being facetious.
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:20, Reply)
well, to be specific it's about Bannockburn, I think.

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:21, Reply)
It is.
The Edward in the lyrics is whichever King Edward it was that they scrapped with.
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:22, Reply)
Edward II, baby.
Tedward.
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:25, Reply)
Silly Scots
I guess they just didn't want it as badly as we did.
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:21, Reply)
They brought swords to a gunfight.
The outcome wasn't surprising.
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:22, Reply)
Amateurs.

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:23, Reply)
Well, they won, so it was.
Bit Phyrric, like, but Robert the Bruce did defeat Edward at Bannockburn. It was every other battle in history that went tits up for them. Much like a Scottish world cup qualifying campaign.
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:24, Reply)
Was Flower of Scotland written after that?
Thought it was Culloden

Edit: Just seen the replies above.
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:27, Reply)
I think Flower of Scotland was written in the 1950s
but it was about Bannockburn. Even the Scots don't make national anthems out of catastrophic defeats. Although they probably should.
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:29, Reply)
They'd have a higher cultural output if they did.

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:31, Reply)
Dont be silly
During the 14th century Scotchland was ruled by a race of friendly Triffids who would bestow their gifts to all of the beskirted man folk. They would huddle round a small fire and give thanks to their friends from "doon Suth". Unfortunately an evil man by the name of Edward invented a spray called DDT and destroyed the benificent flower lords. The men folk did lament and wrote the aforementioned ditty to mourn their passing.
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:23, Reply)
There will be a hidden extra verse
that covers it, but they wont tell outsiders. They will however get increasingly bitter.
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:15, Reply)
A card.
I'm all heart.
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:07, Reply)
With 'mum' mispelled and someone else's name signed at the end

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:13, Reply)
That's the tiger.

are your bedroom walls all painted black?

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:21, Reply)
I hope their music sounds as challenging and edgy as their 'look' suggests.

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:21, Reply)
when you look that edgy, you don't need to produce music
just posters for the bedroom walls of disaffected teenagers
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:23, Reply)
Imma get one of their hoodies down Camden tomorrow
when I pick up my shipment of 'guyliner'.
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:24, Reply)
seriously, they reek of record company invention
it's like some 40 year old exec worked down the checklist of what's "cool" then phoned a model agency, then a record producer, then some session musicians, in that fucking order
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:26, Reply)
£100 says their singer has a dark, sombre tone and does that RAAARGH angst noise in the choruses.

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:29, Reply)
I'm willing to bet that at least one of them has a one-word name

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:32, Reply)
I've just watched the video* that Chompy linked to down there
And it is not even as good as you describe.

*Well, as far as the first chorus.

I like the keyboard player rocking out there, with his fingerless gloves.

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:34, Reply)
Oops, I posted too far down saying the same thing
Why do keyboard players do that, surely they don't actually think that it adds anything to the sound?
(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:37, Reply)
They all wish that Keytars were still fashionable.

(, Fri 8 Mar 2013, 12:38, Reply)
"It's a GitBoard!"
"A what?"
"Oh, sorry, used the wrong bits of the word, it's a KeyTar"
