Hi guys, here's a new thread!!!!!!
So, 'steampunks' yeah? Do they have their own kind of music? I mean obviously I know the answer to this because I'm deep into the 'scene', I just thought there might be some slightly less hardcore steampunk 'heads' out there who didn't. I can't wait for my goggles to turn up.

Oh wow everyone must have me on 2.0 :o(

(, Tue 30 Apr 2013, 9:26, Reply)
Nah
If we had you on 2.0 we couldn't see you get upset when no one replies.
(, Tue 30 Apr 2013, 9:28, Reply)
can you put yourself on 2.0?

Well I may sometimes come across as a shallow, know-nothing prick but...
Actually, there is no but.
(, Tue 30 Apr 2013, 9:46, Reply)
This recent fascination of yours is quite concerning. Have you considered why you're searching for a new 'sub culture'?
Is it a midlife crisis?
(, Tue 30 Apr 2013, 9:26, Reply)
Yes.
I realise as I approach 40 that I've played my life too safe - I want everyone to look at me and say 'hay - there goes that 'steampunk' guy! He's so cool in his top hat and goggles. What's he like, eh?'
(, Tue 30 Apr 2013, 9:28, Reply)
They're much more likely to think 'look at that wanker'.
So no change from now really.
(, Tue 30 Apr 2013, 9:30, Reply)
Right. I see. It's like that is it?
Right.

Well, I've always been into that tune. Pretty much kickstarted the whole 'steampunk' movement.

One day in the future they'll get the recognition they deserve for being hugely influential pioneers.

I thought the whole steampunk thing was just made up until I was in London a few months back
and saw some prick in a pub with the fucking top hat, goggles, tweed waistcoat, stopwatch - all that jazz.

I'm not sure what I was most amazed by - the fact that this guy had came out of the house looking like Jules Verne meets C3-PO, or that no one else in the pub even batted an eyelid at him.
(, Tue 30 Apr 2013, 9:33, Reply)
Lol at 'Jules Verne meets C3-PO'

Some of the homeless have a tattoo of a tear. Apparently if it is directly under the eye it's to do with a murder they've committed or been involved with.
If it's halfway down the cheek it's racist; tears for my lost country.

When I was a lad, it was all Teddy boys and Skinheads.
You didn't take the piss out of them as you would end up in casualty. The problem with these steam punks, and all of their ilk, is that they are more likely to cry rather than put a bottle in your face. So for that reason, they are just a big bunch of jessies. Bring back the olden days, when if you saw somebody a bit out of the ordinary, you showed a decent amount of respect.
