Pretty sure that somebody slipped some roofies into the girlfriend's drink the other night.
London's a jungle, man.
(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:24, Reply)
Stll, when in Rome eh?

(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:27, Reply)
Are roofies something you take when you have a night on a tiles?

(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:27, Reply)
my brother's wife got done in las vegas
it's a fucking bastard. who thinks it's ok to do that to another human being?
(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:27, Reply)
Chompy?

(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:28, Reply)
see, the use of the word "another" in relation to a human being makes your answer incorrect

(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:30, Reply)
Impossible to prove it, of course.
But we drank a similar amount and she usually doesn't get much worse than I do. She was totally out for the count about half an hour after we left the bar until she slowly got better towards the end of the most difficult trip home I've ever embarked on. By the time we got home she was absolutely fine, just a little drunk.

One of the barmen kept asking me which drink was mine. Entirely circumstantial, but that has never happened to me before. Why would he care, you know?
(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:31, Reply)
unless he was just putting more booze in hers?
not that, of course, that's any better.
(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:33, Reply)
Still counts as a date rape drug, legally

(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:34, Reply)
oh, of course.
Well, presumably it only counts as a date rape drug if there's a rape, but yeah.

are you saying you raped her, now? aw man :(

I'm on some stuff called Amytriptaline that i've heard of people using for the same reason.
When I was on a heavy dose, it would make me so tired that I struggled to keep even one eye open, and I'd totally forget the evening.
(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:35, Reply)
So I am guessing that once you got her home
You took advantage and bummed her dry all night
(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:35, Reply)
Sounds like he was trying to spike your drink and got the wrong one?
Was he making eyes at you and that?
(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:45, Reply)
Pretty sure they didn't.
as in not royhpnol - it's a fairly rubbish urban myth that for some reason even the mainstrem press and the police like.

might have been spiked with summat else, of course.
(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:32, Reply)
There's three or four possible drugs, I think
I just use that one as its the most recognisable
(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:35, Reply)
it's also the one that is and more or less always has been impossible, though.
Unless you normally drink bright blue, lumpy drinks.

(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:48, Reply)
Benzy-something and GHL are the others, I think?
Rohypnol is just a name everybody recognises. Like Hoover.
(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:43, Reply)

(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:54, Reply)
Interestingly*
As far as I know there has never been a chemically confirmed case of sexual assualt after drink spinking. Certainly there was a big meta-anaylsis of UK data of urine samples from victims who claimed their drinks had been spiked and there wasn't one single case where there was any chemical evidence of that.

Not saying it doesn't happen, fact fans. Just that, y'know, it's usually an effect of booze alone or booze in conjuction with medication

*depends what you class as interesting
(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:56, Reply)
What you're saying is these women are all drunken slags who occasionally feel remorseful in the morning?

(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:57, Reply)
I had you down as more of a feminist that that, badge.

(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:58, Reply)
yeah, it's fucking awful how facts make people a misogynist prick.
let's go on perpetuating incorrect paranoid beliefs instead because FEAR is the best weapon there is.

I'll give £25 to the charity of your choice to post that on Lu's wall with no refferences to this thread or any replies to her comments.

(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:58, Reply)
i only know one person it happened to
she had only drunk 1 glass of wine, but had absolutely no memory of anything afterwards. the cabbie told her that when he picked her up, she was clinging to the gates (flat in salford quays) and screaming, but she didn't remember any of it.

medical examination = raped.

horrifically terrifying, esp as she'd been at a friend's party.
(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:58, Reply)
Fucking hell
That sounds terrifying
(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 14:00, Reply)
she definitely went to the police
and they knew who it was, but i don't know what happened after that
(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 14:02, Reply)
Like I said
not saying it doesn't happen. Just that it's not been proved.
(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 14:01, Reply)
is it true that some of the drugs don't leave a trace in the system after a v short period of time?
so all you'd have would be the victim's evidence that they thought they had been drugged? or is that biochemically bollocks?
(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 14:03, Reply)
GHB has a short half-life in urine
it shows up in hair for about 12 weeks though. As do most drugs.

This is an immensely difficult area to get into a discussion about. Because bad shit does happen, and I'm not casting doubt on that. But the widepread use of drink spiking with these "magic" memory loss drugs? Not sure. All the evidence says no.
(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 14:09, Reply)
but, just to clarify, no fucking way would GHB have had the effect you describe on your friend
theoretically - very theoretically - an extremely high dose benzodiazepine-type drug might give you that. Might.
(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 14:16, Reply)
Not being flippant
But I have woken up in bed with some strange women with no idea how I got there...
(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 14:05, Reply)
At the cab office where I used to work, they used [along with pantomime actions] say what they'd like to do to women/customers.
I swear man, that's pretty much the reason why i'm partially a-sexual.
(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 14:06, Reply)
GHB isn't, but yeah, the others are.

(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:38, Reply)

ie er
(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:39, Reply)
yes. yes you did.
No, it's just annoying that rohypnol is thrown around as a "heavily used date rape drug" when in fact it would be basically impossible to use it as such.
(, Mon 2 Sep 2013, 13:39, Reply)
Ah
So when I did the walk of shame looking like a plasterers radio it was all me... I might go and put my high heels on again.
