Shouldn't be on more than 2/3 of full anyway or you risk clipping and speaker damage

Or, y'know, you could have bought an amplifier with a suitable power rating to use with your speakers.
i.e. amp much higher than the speakers. That way you avoid clipping and speaker damage, as the sound distorts before the speakers are damaged and you know you've hit the limit.
