I've been out with my ex-wife this afternoon
As usual we've got drunk and giggled like small kids, mocked the afflicted, talked a bit of business (we still have a lot of joint investments) and generally had fun.

I don't miss her, I don't want to be with her in a relationship but we still think the world of each other.

Other confusing emotional relationships?
(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 18:58, 128 replies, latest was 11 years ago)
Seems she is a good friend now. Sometimes that happens.
Not everyone ends relationships on sour notes like they seem to on OT.
I'm great mates with a couple of exes. Not so great with others.
(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:00, Reply)
I am the Claire Raynor of OT

(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:03, Reply)
It always throws me a bit when I remember that we shared a bed for 8 years
But it throws me the other way that we can have fun and trust each other without that.

I suppose the biggest shock is that we've got older with very little collateral damage.
(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:05, Reply)
You mean kids?

(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:07, Reply)
No kids

(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:07, Reply)
\o/
Probably why you're happy then.
(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:08, Reply)
We never wanted kids - both saw them as nasty little parasites.

(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:11, Reply)
tell this to my last ex

(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:21, Reply)
I suppose I'm boasting a bit here
We still get on and we still have fun.
(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:24, Reply)
That's awkward cos she told me she thought you were a cunt
Still I think that's what she said as she had her mouth full and the queue was getting a bit rowdy
(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:06, Reply)
It wouldn't surprise me
Although it was always intelligent men that turned her on, so you may be fibbing.
(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:10, Reply)
What's an 'emotional' relationship?

(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:13, Reply)
I get sooooo emotional babyyyyy

You need one
Do you want to be a dead person - there are several examples within a click - or do you want to live a life?
(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:19, Reply)
I would like to live a life please.

(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:21, Reply)
I grant you a life.
Do with as you will. Look around you and follow the best available path.

Doesn't even have to cough for a vegi supreme.

As usual Xavier, this makes little sense.

(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:24, Reply)
I thought you and Swipe were an item now?
I was referring to pizza gate. AND I'M NOT XAVIER!

I'll ask Swipey to stick it on here and fb.

(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:41, Reply)
The only time we had pizza she had some veggie rubbish and I had the meatza with the hot dog crust.
After which I was so full I fell asleep on her while watching telly.
(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:44, Reply)
Well as she's got chins the size of pillows so that was probably sufficient to make you sleepy.

(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 20:03, Reply)
Because of her enormous bulbous frame she is quite comfortable.
Like being engulfed in a water bed full to the point of bursting with blood and warm fat.

Met an 81 year old lady yesterday.
Short and "well built".
She told me about her operations including a mastectomy.
"It was the left one they took off." She said.
I only just resisted saying,"I can tell."
Lovely old dear.
(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:27, Reply)
Good on the pair of you.
If you were real friends you'll stay friends.
Me and the ex get on better than we ever did married.
But then she doesn't have to wake up to me any more.

Pretty much how we work really.
I think we've sort of accepted that we should never have got married in the first place, but we did.

Better to hurt than be dead inside I reckon.
Though I would have agreed with you while I was going through it.
(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:29, Reply)
it's the dumb human condition
throw yourself into emotionally dangerous situations because it seems better than being dead inside and then regretting it terribly and swearing off it all forever...until the next time. It's like drinking heavily, seems like a good idea at the time, but the hangover...
(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:31, Reply)
I throw myself into relationships AND drink heavily....

(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:32, Reply)

Better to settle in at the crease before you try to hook it for six.
Sorry, don't know how to talk to girls.

Scrape out a mark where you want to stand then keep your eye on
the one who's running towards you.
Watch for deviation from the norm.

And if you get thrown a googly just bail.

Can we not, please, at the moment?
Money on a whitewash?

I think it will be a whitewash if we lose the next test.

Think we've had it, frankly.
I didn't rate Clarke after Ponting but they're even more evil now and Cooke is too soft.

I get on well with a couple of ex-girlfriends. I would like that in time my ex wife and I can get on ok, it would be better for our daughter as well as being less stressful for us both.

(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:40, Reply)
You're getting on alright at the moment aren't you?
That's gotta be a good sign for the future.
(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:45, Reply)
It's not too bad. Certainly been a lot worse.
For me it's all about Micro's best interests, so I end up not commenting on some things that my ex says, just to keep the peace.
(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:50, Reply)
I'm absolutely no authority on these matters, but I think you are doing completely the right thing.
Some things aren't worth saying when you look at the bigger picture, and I'm sure your daughter will really appreciate that when she's older.
(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 19:53, Reply)
Thanks.
My view is that when my daughter is older it is inevitable that she will ask what happened, I want to be able to look her in the eye & say in all honesty that I did the best I could to be a good father.
(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 20:00, Reply)
Let her have a look at your B3ta Posts.

As much as you are a MASSIVE CUNT
She will blatantly already know that.

Never discussed the reasons for my divorce with my daughters
They found out anyway. Took them a while to make up with my ex after that. Never slagged her off to them. Just tried to be a good dad. That's all you can do.

Death by dangerous driving.

I think that's it, I'm not sure. I don't really want to check with his widow.
(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 20:11, Reply)
The sentencing guidelines are still too lenient for that particular offence
Shame about your friend, tragic for his boy.
(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 20:13, Reply)
The guy was in court for the first part of the trial last week, he was pleading not guilty and was all bluster and cockiness.
He changed his plea today, sentencing's next week.

yer but you famously have very conservative and pedestrian views on cultural matters

(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 20:30, Reply)
Now, there I'd disagree
I do have a couple of issues with mainstream and 'hip' opinions - some of which seem to have marked me out as 'pedestrian' etc. Such as:-
Tarrantino - meh, I've seen all of his films, can't wait not to see them again.
Woody Allen - not funny. Ever.
(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 20:37, Reply)
I stand by my assertion
The fact that you picked examples of pedestrian stuff merely backs me up.

And 'conservative' as in 'averse to change or innovation and holding traditional values.'
(, Wed 11 Dec 2013, 20:40, Reply)
