(, Sun 22 Dec 2013, 18:58, Reply)
Alright.
I've had to escape the house. It's amazing how much noise someone can make after you say "I just want a bit of quiet"

Luckily, there is a shit pub on the island that no one drinks in, so I'm enjoying an almost out of date bottle of Newcastle brown and the quiet sound of a man that looks he lives in a bog wheezing.

How has the start of your holiday season been?
(, Sun 22 Dec 2013, 19:07, Reply)
26 of in laws family yesterday...now escaped back to London with some beers

(, Sun 22 Dec 2013, 19:09, Reply)
We had 2 Christmas parties,
1 Friday, 1 Saturday, all with children and idiots and drunks and then a Christmas lunch today with more knobs and idiots. I have such a lie tolerance for this, I sort of miss working over christlemas a bit after this.

How did you cope with 26?
(, Sun 22 Dec 2013, 19:12, Reply)
drink innit
actually they're alright really
(, Sun 22 Dec 2013, 19:21, Reply)
Fair enough.
I secretly like a few of Ladypigs extended. But I'd never let her know. There's 2 or 3 that always find their way to the bar, usually good for a chat.

the uncle brings very nice wine and port

(, Sun 22 Dec 2013, 19:26, Reply)
Not too awfully bad
Evening weepee. I just had a second roast beef dinner from my beef joint, probably have another tomorrow and slice the rest for sarnies. Contemplating nipping out to grab a bottle of wine since I'd only the one glass left to have with my meal and now I have the taste for it.
(, Sun 22 Dec 2013, 19:11, Reply)
Go get a bottle,
Tis the season after all.

seriously, what the fuck? It's hilariously awful, who are the people taht watch this shit?
(, Sun 22 Dec 2013, 19:24, Reply)
I happened on ten minutes of Eastenders this afternoon while channel-hopping.
It was equally diabolical.
(, Sun 22 Dec 2013, 19:27, Reply)
it's very confusing, as it's so popualr
but appears to be entirely without merit
(, Sun 22 Dec 2013, 19:30, Reply)
It was very confusing.

(, Sun 22 Dec 2013, 19:33, Reply)
My mum was an addict
so I watched a fair bit of it back in those days. Hilda Ogden, Betty Turpin, Mike Baldwin etc etc etc. It had character in them days, now it's just trend-chasing.
(, Sun 22 Dec 2013, 19:50, Reply)

(, Sun 22 Dec 2013, 20:39, Reply)
There was a lovely send off for him here
Lots of old friends reformed various bands to play in tribute to him.
(, Sun 22 Dec 2013, 20:45, Reply)
That's good
There's an end of popular culture that gets forgotten when the likes of Jade Goodey die but they are equally important.

The greatest fretless bassist ever - Mick Karn - died on the same day as Gerry Rafferty. What's better artistically - Life in Tokyo or Baker Street?

A mighty bunch of tossers on the whole - although the guy who once played a gay barman was a smashing bloke and was on our quiz team for a while.

Can't and won't remember the regs now but there's an EU specific height and guard regulation.
