Nope. Convenience, produce always has to be of a certain quality.
If I'm in town I will use a local butchers. Don't really have any fruit and veg shops near me.

I'm a lazy cunt too. I want it washed and prepped.

alt. Depends what with. ketchup with a full english, brown on a sausage/bacon barm.

i always feel that ready chopped vegetables are not quite as fresh somehow
i suspect this may be because i am an illogical idiot

When I cook after work I just use frozen, which never tastes as good.
Cooking for company, always fresh.
(, Thu 23 Jan 2014, 11:26, Reply)
Don't they say frozen is actually fresher than fresh veg?

(, Thu 23 Jan 2014, 11:35, Reply)
Doesn't taste it.

(, Thu 23 Jan 2014, 11:35, Reply)
Certainly for peas, yes
Those Birds Eye veg mix things are good for when you are in a hurry though
(, Thu 23 Jan 2014, 11:37, Reply)
If Badge was here I am sure he would explain it better
But it is something to do with the water in the cells expanding due to the freezing process so although technically they are fresher (or preserved from a fresher point) due to the degradation in the cell wall they can taste different to proper fresh.
(, Thu 23 Jan 2014, 11:39, Reply)
Surely if they're flash frozen they should be okay?

(, Thu 23 Jan 2014, 11:41, Reply)
I would think there is still some damage done
I could well be talking out of my arse though. It wouldn't be the first time/.

The ones in individual portion microwave packs?
Yeah, we use them. They're very handy.

They are canny, yes
There's some generic mixed veg for the freezer though that only take 2 mins to cook
(, Thu 23 Jan 2014, 11:43, Reply)
apparently you're quite a fan of the brown
#santorum
(, Thu 23 Jan 2014, 11:23, Reply)
You said this the other day, yet you were the only one who knew what it meant...

(, Thu 23 Jan 2014, 11:26, Reply)
yeah, it's a very obscure term and not right at the top of google searches for 'Santorum'
It was in the news during the 2012 US presidential elections, do you not keep up with current events which don't involve 'celebs'?
(, Thu 23 Jan 2014, 11:28, Reply)
Leave me be

(, Thu 23 Jan 2014, 11:35, Reply)
Why would I search for it though?

(, Thu 23 Jan 2014, 11:35, Reply)
just saying that it's not some obscure term, it's pretty widely known, though I doubt it was covered in Heat or Inside Soap, which might explain why you hadn't heard of it.

(, Thu 23 Jan 2014, 11:37, Reply)
I'd never heard of it until you mentioned it

(, Thu 23 Jan 2014, 11:38, Reply)
you're notoriously pedestrian though

(, Thu 23 Jan 2014, 11:39, Reply)
I'm sorry that my previous shitty foam experience is limited, compared to you

(, Thu 23 Jan 2014, 11:40, Reply)
I'll excuse you, but only this time

(, Thu 23 Jan 2014, 11:41, Reply)
