Since no one had a reply to your rather more informed than most post on the tax issue and went a bit quiet we might as well.

(, Fri 27 Feb 2015, 13:56, Reply)
thing is tho that lol povvo chimpy has watched and will watch films funded by Ingenious Media
So he condones and indeed supports the use of GAAP exploiting investment schemes.

The end.
(, Fri 27 Feb 2015, 14:05, Reply)
I wish it was the end.

(, Fri 27 Feb 2015, 14:14, Reply)
I also eat bread, doesn't mean I agree with the EUs common agricultural policy you spastic.

(, Fri 27 Feb 2015, 14:16, Reply)
if you feel so strongly about wealthy people using perfectly legal and approved schemes to avoid paying millions of pounds in tax
Then maybe your conscience should demand that you don't condone or support said activities, you penniless, sub-mediocre tragedy of a thirtysomething.

Enjoy living with your parents in your mid life eh.
(, Fri 27 Feb 2015, 14:20, Reply)
lets talk about you and me
lets talks about all the good things and the bad things that may be
(, Fri 27 Feb 2015, 14:05, Reply)
Actually, that was a good thing, I was about to mention my personal finances.
but back to the 90% bonus thing, bit rediculous innit?
(, Fri 27 Feb 2015, 13:53, Reply)
Yes, but if it was 90% on earnings over 5million a year then it's not like you're going to be seriously hurting anyone.

(, Fri 27 Feb 2015, 13:59, Reply)
So you do £5m worth of stuff only to see £4.5m of that go to the Gov.
Whilst the Gov does shit like award NHS contracts to companies where they sit on the board of directors.

Ef That
(, Fri 27 Feb 2015, 14:06, Reply)
I would rather have £2.5m pumped directly into my wages instead.

(, Fri 27 Feb 2015, 14:08, Reply)
No, in my example (which is no where near realistic)
you get paid £5mill, you get £5 mill
If you get paid £6 mil you get the £5mill tax free and the 90% tax goes on the last one so you earn £5.1million
(, Fri 27 Feb 2015, 14:13, Reply)
Please stop this.
I'll love you forever Jase if you delete this one too.
(, Fri 27 Feb 2015, 14:15, Reply)

(, Fri 27 Feb 2015, 14:22, Reply)
Ahhh, I get it, so it's that Bands thing.
How many people get over £5m ? Maybe the bands could [figure out of nowhere] work on 10% every £2m...

0-2m = 10%
2-4m = 20%

.... until it maxes out at 90% ?
(, Fri 27 Feb 2015, 14:16, Reply)
You obviously don't get it Gonz :P

(, Fri 27 Feb 2015, 14:21, Reply)

I just posted a long intelligent post about how to sort out the banking industry.
I hope you're happy.
(, Fri 27 Feb 2015, 13:54, Reply)
Not really.

(, Fri 27 Feb 2015, 13:54, Reply)
Basically what I was saying is that if the more exotic ways of tax avoidance were either removed or made punitive then it would be better for society.
Simplifying the pay system and tax system would make for a fairer society and maybe just maybe lower taxes for everyone rather than just the ones that can afford to negotiate how and where their paid and can ship their money all over the world ever 24 hours.
(, Fri 27 Feb 2015, 13:54, Reply)
I always instruct my accountant to use erotic tax avoidance schemes

(, Fri 27 Feb 2015, 13:56, Reply)
As great as I'm sure you are I'm not really talking about you.

(, Fri 27 Feb 2015, 14:00, Reply)
why is it ok for society to decide that high remuneration is immoral

(, Fri 27 Feb 2015, 14:03, Reply)
It's not a moral judgement it's about paying bills.
We as a country are running at a deficit, although it's not necessarily the worst thing in the world it would be better if we were not. So how do we earn more money, increase tax revenue and reduce spending.
