Never been.
My wife's best friend moved out there, last year, so we're supposed to visit them, at some point. Not sure I fancy 12+ hours in a flying metal tube, though.

Is it still 12+ hours inside a flying metal tube?
I suppose I could pack the kids into cattle class whilst me and the missus enjoy the pleasure of 1st, but it's still 12+ hours in a slightly more pleasant metal tube, isn't it?
And airports. I don't like then, either.

The prospect of being on a land mass populated with even more Australians than, say, Edinburgh puts me off more tbh.
At least it's quite big, I suppose.

A guy I know moved out there to work in a bar and live the high life in the sun.
He died very soon after his arrival with a heroin overdose. Turned out he really moved to escape debt to a dealer and didn't have a job at all. He was planning to live on the streets there and hope to marry a local to stay. The heroin out there was apparently better than he was used to, or worse or whatever and he died. Thanks for bringing up that memory m8.

A former colleague of mine spent a year in Oz because she had an uncle out there.
She fancied herself as a bit of an amateur photographer (and was pretty handy with a camera, in all fairness), so there were some qualidee snaps of palm trees in Sydney on her Facebook.
Alt: black pudding, mushrooms and onions. Should probably have some fruit now innit.

Just had a team meeting about our office move and then my 1-2-1. BORED
A mate of mine moved over there a few years ago and absolutely loves it. Much cheaper to live there, apparently

Mexico was a week long blur. All inclusive access to potent spirits is a good and a bad thing

I thought it was really expensive. A pint is about £7.50 and a packet of fags £13.
And as it had a limited number of supermarket chains I thought the fresh food was dear.
Great country though.

My brother who Mcbeef and Swipe totally fancy went there for a year
He says some booze is expensive and others cheep, for example a box of wine costs the same as a bottle. He says a lot of the natives carry a couple of boxes around in their cars just in case.
