....that the UK is actually on the Euro? The reason for this is that the UK has 2 armed forces bases in Cyprus and since Cyprus is on the euro, the UK agreed to make the euro legal tender on these bases. Now since the bases are UK soil (under the Geneva convention) this means, that the UK has 2 official forms of currency, the UK pound sterling and the Euro.
What make all this extra inane, is the fact that I recited all of this from my own memory (no websites were used). This includes the "Geneva convention" part.....

..... Mount Everest (Actually, pronounced "EVE-EREST") ISN'T the "tallest" mountain in the world. It's actually "Mauna Kea" in Hawaii. Officially, mountains have to measure from undersea base to peak. If we use that metric, then Mauna Kea is the "tallest" mountain in the world. Mount Everest is actually the "highest" mountain.....above sealevel.

Why is Oriental bad? It was clear and concise. If I describe someone as Asian here it means an Oriental, but over there it means an Indian. Why is Oriental considered bad?
( , Wed 15 Oct 2008, 20:53, Reply)

I don't why that would be offensive. The word "oriental" is means "Eastern". So, the term "oriental people" literally means "eastern people".
Likewise, "Austral" means "southern". Hence, "Australians".

It's true, the different diets of people make them smell emphatically different. I really don't know what I smell like, of course, but I've known women who smelled faintly of garlic most of the time, and others who apparently ate a lot of eggs as they smelled vaguely of sulphur. But they were the rare few- most don't smell unusual to me.

Sadly, I couldn't make it.... I was somewhat of an idiot and booked tickets to Sweden for that weekend. I realised about three seconds after buying, but EasyJet wouldn't let me change them for a week later, the bastards. I do hope everyone who came had a good time though!
@TBG: I am good. And drunk. Which is also good. Also, I've located a bright yellow nylon wig, which I am now wearing. Which is also good.

Have spent another day bombarding my retina with documentation. Also, for some reason, even though I've not been doing much, I seem to be feeling knackered during the day. Perhaps going to bed earlier will help.

It's because you're not doing much during the day that you're getting knackered.
I always feel more awake at the end of the day if I've been really busy, but lethargic if I've had a slow day.

All is hanging low, loose and metallic. And slghtly bloody.
Having noticed your earlier mention of whisky, and the almost depleted bottle beside me, I feel like some sort of B3ta whisky club should be started

Hmmm...
On my shelf I've got various open bottles of whisky, including a slightly special 36yo Macallan. It's *lovely*
Edit: DAMN IT. Broken the rules *again*

All I have is a cheapo bottle of Grants. I do have a 25y/o Glenfiddich squirrelled away, but that is waiting for a *very* special occasion.
The first court of the B3ta Whisky clubhouse is in session! *bangs gavel on the bar*

Although, on a whisky-related note, I've had rather a lot of Grouse tonight.
I'm afraid I'll always go for cheapness over quality.

as I have ways of doing things on the cheap. For all intents I'm staying in a hotel on a 'business trip' :)
I didn't exactly bank on needing a couple of new tyres for my car yesterday though, so I'm about £500 lighter than I'd expected.

I'm going to be quite honest, and say that I have no idea who you are. Have we met before?
I am quite good this evening, as no-one has stuck needles in my private places recently. And I'm making progress with assignments, and I got a nice pen at a careers fair yesterday.
Good times.

We have never met. I'm just a random lurker who decided to de lurk a bit, and make afool out of myself. The alcohol is assisting with this.
I also saw a menton of stabbing, and I couldn't resist the opening.
