It seems to very quiet this evening
How are you Mrs L?

I was supposed to be getting my home broadband stuff delivered to my work today but the courier has left is with some one else. The surrounding shops seem to have no idea where it is. Bastards.

Hope you find it OK.

I've been working today.

And now I'm shamelessly pimping my QOTW answer:

Yeah they're knobends
I phoned them and said "The initials in the signature are LWS according to your track and trace website, nobody here has those initials". The guy on the phone replied "yes, that means left with someone else" "Can you tell me who?" "No"

Marvelous.

It's inflamed the kind hearted liberal within me.

I may just bombard everyone with kittens as an antidote!

Oh, chickenlady
don't take it all so seriously. Use this QOTW to vent your nasty side, you must have one?

@al Ok, that's done it. I'm now fully aroused and sitting awkwardly at my desk.
Damn you, you hairy, dirty northerner!

A nasty side....

Erm....

I can be irritating.

I'm also a bloody know-all most of the time.

Um...I'll go away and think about how I'm nasty.

Really, I shall.

(, Thu 16 Oct 2008, 20:26, Reply)
The Judge Dredd cabs
were in fact disguised Land Rover 101s, which started off looking like this, but looked like this once they'd been finished with.

They were built by Land Rover at their Solihull plant. Coincidentally, Land Rover is one of the brands I work for, and 3 of the JD cars are parked around the back of our design centre in Warwickshire.

One of them was in the way of a car I needed to get to, so I drove it around to the other side of the building so that I could get to the car I needed. They're unchanged from the 1970s production Land Rovers inside - link

Not so futuristic now are they :)

I thought this may amuse you.

At school there are some computers in the corridor which are mainly used by the teachers. It was morning break and I walked passed these computers to get to the staffroom.
I noticed that someone had left their work up on the screen.
The document said, in large writing, something like 'your going to use the football to practice your football skill.'
As I came back passed the 'your' had been changed to the correct one and the s added to skill. All this had been done in a red font with SPELLING written underneath in red.

*sigh* Sorry for being un-fluffeh.
I'm not having a very fluffeh time lately, with a lot of VERy irritating people in the downtown area that I'm having to deal with. I'm normally a patient and tolerant person, but the absolute idiocy of what I get to face on a near-daily basis is starting to really wear at me. I got yelled at for nearly hitting some kid on a tall bike who ran a red light, these skinny white rasta wannabees called the cops to complain because I blocked an alley with a moving truck as I was unloading furniture (which meant they had to drive around the block to the other end of the alley), a certain girl I know is pregnant yet again by some gangsta playa type and was moaning about it (and I had to bite my tongue hard), and I'm getting extremely fed up with the people of this city at the moment. Christ, what happened to common sense?!?

And to top it all off a good friend of mine just found out that his wife is now carrying a stillborn.

Some days you stomp the steaming divot; some days the steaming divot stomps you.

Had a look at two flats today, and found a nice studio flat. Am considering moving in.

I shall now go and check my underpants to see if the little people who inhabit my underpants have made any interesting crafts with my pubes.

I've pretty much lost my faith in the humanity of this city, though. There are nothing but posers, twits and selfish cunts around here. I've seen damned little in the past month that would change that opinion.

There's an area of the city called the Fan, and it's populated with a rather appalling combination of scene kids, neo-hippies walking gigantic dogs that they keep locked up in their tiny apartments when they're not home, ultra-feminist grrrls who curse at you if you're male and glance in their direction, and militant idealists of every sort who think it's acceptable to hassle you if you happen to be a white male over the age of 40, even if you're not doing anything to or around them. I'm one of Them, don't you know. I'm part of the Establishment, part of what's wrong with the world, due to my gender and skin color. How fucking ironic is that?!? So if I don't want to be hassled down there I guess I'd have to wear dreads and tie dye and speak in a Jamaican accent or as though I were from Southern California and stoned.

Fucking posers. I really just want to slap them and remind them that they're not Jamaican and that Bob Marley would be the first to laugh at them and call them twats.

A friend of mine was once hired to cut down a dead tree in that area, and a dozen neo-hippies stood on a fire escape nearby and screamed "Tree murderer!" at him the entire time.

My sympathy for these asshats is about gone. I really just feel the urge to go around giving them all Dope Slaps.

I've been having to go down there on a regular basis, and it's plucking at my last goddam nerve.
