I was able to see some daylight on my cycleride home. At last, the dark days are coming to an end. This may inspire me to get to the office earlier so I can cycle home in daylight.
So what inspirational things have happened to you recently?

Robots are great, so ten points.
Have a robot of mine:

@Kaol: Is that pic an idea for a computer-game perchance?
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 19:14, Reply)

It's based on a dream I had.
Can't remember any more of it than that.
It did make sense at the time though!
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 19:15, Reply)

Did you draw that K? It's really rather good.
Here's another one of mine - my first foray into using paths and a work in progress. It was going to be a HSH pic originally but it'll probably end up on /board if I ever get around to finishing it.
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 19:17, Reply)

he seems so content catching his lock fishies :)
Edit: No3l, that house robot is awesome! :D
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 19:17, Reply)

Thanks mel... you can stay :)
Post your pictures of robots!
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 19:21, Reply)

Well, and the fishes and stuff.
I say drew, I mean drew it on on the computer.
Thanks though!
Yours is cool too! You did it with paths? I never got my head around them, so nice work!
Talking of work... I kinda wanna go home :|
EDIT: Of course Mel can stay, she's lovely!
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 19:22, Reply)

@kaol: Did you get to find out what happened when a fish was unlocked?
@No3L: I like that robot too. Perhaps you could draw a house for it?
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 19:24, Reply)

I just said, I can't remember :p
While we're on robots... TGB drew this one...
It's what would happen if I had my brain put into a robot made out of bits of my old Land Rover :\

She's a bit special
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 19:27, Reply)

Although stuff like "feeling things" and "getting drunk" would be more tricky.
EDIT: Halfy, you sod! How's it going?
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 19:32, Reply)

Paths seemed really hard before I started working with them, and I'm still not sure I've got my head around them completely, but you can see the result. There's some good tutorials online... but I use an ebook from getpedia.com - Photoshop CS2 All-in-One Desk Reference for Dummies.PDF
Out of curiousity, how the hell do you do your comic if you don't use paths?

( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 19:35, Reply)

Lots of brush tools, selection tool, reference photos and patience :p
EDIT: Of course I love the RoboKaol! I wouldn't show it off if I didn't!
EDIT 2: BBC is fine.
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 19:35, Reply)

b3ta is fine but bbc is running like a fat bloke with an overloaded chip buttie in each hand

Re: inspirational stuff. Pretty much naff all. I'm a cynic of the highest order.
If God came down to earth, knocked on my door, did a hand stand and juggled live hand grenades with his feet, the most he might get out of me is a half hearted thumbs up.
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 19:39, Reply)

I can get to the BBC site just fine, but it's a bit slow here.
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 19:43, Reply)

(working just fine) I note that Norn Iron are playing a match of the football tomorrow. Engerland are too but if I read it right the Norn Iron one is unfriendly.

What with one thing and another I spent almost the entire time I was at work working. It's a bloody liberty!
Now I must choose a bottle of wine from the winerack. Primitivo, Shiraz or Nero d'Avola. Hmmm.
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 19:48, Reply)

Well I'm gonna go home soon, hopefully.
I've got all my planning done for my meeting tomorrow.
Here's hoping that the roads are less flooded than they were this morning. Took an hour instead of 20 minutes :\
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 19:56, Reply)

BBC site working fine for me.
And nothing inspiring has happened to me for ages. Wicked.
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 20:02, Reply)

I can get on just about every website known to man, apart from the BBC one, and all I want to do is go on the BBC site.
cunting internet.

If I get to Richmond again then me and the Loon will meet you for our very own mini-bash.
There may only be 3 of us but it's quality and not quantity that counts.

Nope, you've just got poor grammar, that's all!
For once, in a long time, I feel good about life (ironic, under the circumstances).

Keep on hoping, sunshine.
I'm going to cook some potatoes.

I got a good payoff from my old job, I walked straight into a new job for more money, I've lost 3 stone and my six pack is coming back!
Still single, but you can't have everything! :O)
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 21:21, Reply)

I know the grammar was incorrect. I was just being sarcastic.
To be honest I'm not really in a 'I need my grammar correcting' kind of mood right now.
I'm off to bed.
Goodnight all.
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 21:24, Reply)

How are we all? I skipped most of the bottom half of the thread, so have no idea what's ben going on.
A quick catch-up, anyone?
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 21:25, Reply)

What did you do to lose the weight, Stig?
I'm 6 months pregnant with a beer baby, and I wouldn't mind trading it in for a 6 pack.
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 21:26, Reply)

good skills, I like the beer and food too much to get a six pack, and more than 90 mins at the gym is just a fucking chore!
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 21:30, Reply)

it was all like 4 x 30 seconds flat-out sprints is the equivalent of an hour in the gym.
Or something. I forget. I may have seized on something and taken it out of context in an attempt to not have to do proper exercise.
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 21:34, Reply)

apparently that only works if you are already in good shape, its no good if you are trying to get there!
My ankles and knees are too fucked to run so have to make do with cycling, however the thought of a spinning class makes me feel sick
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 21:37, Reply)

On my flatmates exercise bike.
I now hold the records for:
- Fastest 1k
- Fastest 5k
- Highest pulse displayed on the screen
Go me! It makes me feel good, since I'm faster than my flatmate who does exercise and goes to the gym =)
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 21:38, Reply)

I limit myself to 1800 calories a day. That's a good way to start losing weight. But I couple that with 5 trips to the gym, each consisting of 85 minutes training.
And whenever I can, I squeeze a run in. Normally going to the shops. I barely use my car now.
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 21:40, Reply)

I'm not sure "highest pulse" is a good record, more a "seek medical attention" alert?
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 21:46, Reply)

Sorry, mate! It's a long, hard slog!
My stomach is now (relatively) flat, and I can see a couple of muscles poking out behind it.
Still a long way to go, though....
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 21:47, Reply)

I think it shows my dedication to trying hard to get the records. Go me!
( , Tue 10 Feb 2009, 21:55, Reply)

Oooh never correct BGB's grammar she has a free pass to write however the fuck she wants on account of her being awesome.
