Occasional visitor The Disappointed does have wine.

But not much left.

Because he's been scoffing it since 16.00.

Anyway, that's me. Radiator on full blast and I'm STILL cold.

I has wine
but not a Semillon...

I'm busy avoiding replies to my pop at captain butter fingers or whatever..
..far too many of them for my liking. Rather regretting getting involved in the sad mud-slinging but unable to revisit the thread.

I have a little red wine. Ran out of weed earlier and now I'm at the point where I am considering raiding my bro's stash. That's not good form is it? I'm a hopeless addict and a bad man. *jonesing far too much for a bit of weed*

Bad thread on B3TA?
That makes me sad :( Weed! Damn I need some weed. My only real contact split up with her dealer....

Oh that's a long time
To go without wine.

I think it says in The Bible that you must drink a lot of wine on a regular basis or you'll shrivel up and die.

And go to Hell.

For a VERY long time.

So you really ought to start scoffing the wine, BGB.
(, Thu 12 Feb 2009, 20:30, Reply)
Oi, Halfy
Who are you calling a fucking amateur?

When I said "I has wine" I meant a box. Not a thimblefull. I'm a classy bastard and no mistake.

I do have a few bottles a week and then I give up for a week or so just to see if I can.
Like I said, I have masochistic tendencies.

I gave up bread for a month once, just to see if I could. *loves bread*

Today is Friday
In my perverse shift system I knocked off at 12.30 today and this is my weekend.

So I feel utterly justified in guzzling a couple of bottles of Morrison's best on a Thursday evening.

Tomorrow I'll do some more unless I get dragged into bar work.

On Saturday I'll be a fat, sober disappointed.

Fags
Drugs

I even gave up booze for about a year.

I have to give up booze for at least a week as now on antibiotics. Got some food stuck in the socket where mty impacted tooth was til last week, so had to resort to DIY dentistry with a paperclip to get it out.

This necessitated a further trip to the dentist today. Woops!

You are way too kind. I often like to think of myself as the type of weapon that will go off repeatedly for no apparent reason.

And I always find my target, if you get my drift.

And Mr Disappointed - I have loads of friends. I'm on first name terms with most of the counter staff at the local benefits office. but I don't like to brag about it, you know?

As I have said in previous posts, my boy does tend to rub people up the wrong way. His heart's in the right place, but unfortunately he tends not to think before he posts.

It's a shame, really. He's actually quite talented. He really excelled at home economics at school you know. His teacher, Mrs Hoyyahammerowerhere told me that he had no trouble getting it to rise. I was surprised when he didn't become a pastry chef after he left borstal.

Far better to have real parents with which to blame your spectacular failures in life.

Well it was the daytime, and I'd only had three pints.

I excelled myself and managed a full evening with Tulip and Piston Broke in the Angel without curling up in a ball.

It was impacted, so it's been a bit of a bugger. Not too bad now though.
(, Thu 12 Feb 2009, 21:50, Reply)
Good-oh!
The session, not the impaction. I have an impacted wisdom tooth. My dentist has been threatening to remove it for years.

Hasn't succeeded yet, mainly because it's perfectly fine and doesn't cause me any problems. Apart from occasionally biting my cheek.

In other news
It's been a month since my 3-day trial-period at work, and at last, I have some indication of my status as a permanent member of staff that does not involve the absence of a P45. I now have an official 'crew-pass' complete with photo. However, as I have yet to decide on whether or not my beard is to be a permanent feature of my face, the photo could get out of date pretty soon.

@BK: Sorry to hear about the tooth-gap.
(, Thu 12 Feb 2009, 21:53, Reply)
Hey spak
Good news re: the job.

If it's any consolation, my work pass pic is way out of date as I have no facial fuzz on it, and yellow hair.

@ Davros
On the plus side, I have never had any sign of my wisdom teeth. Which I'm quite pleased about:)

@ spakka

It was right at the back so it's not obvious.

One of the questions they ask you
after a failed suicide attempt, is "have you ever tried to give up alcohol for a week, or a month?"

Apparently attempting such a thing is a sign of an alcoholic.

I'm just saying.

@light in chains
was that directed at me?

I've tried numerous times for a week or two. I'm an alcoholic, as defined by government definitions although I only drink in the evening, but often too much.

fuck it, no point much talking about it. used to post on mental health boards and got flamed for forever going on about drinking from a variety of angles and not doing anything about it. the internet wont help. And I love booze :)

Used to tell myself I'd get a gf and she'd calm me down but 10 years down the line that still hasn't happened and I no longer have faith in love. talking to a girl from a dating site right now and just getting bored and feeling creepy.

Swapping bottom halves indeed. That sort of thing gets you into a LOT of trouble in Byker, you know.

You people are depraved. Online. Etc.
(, Thu 12 Feb 2009, 22:09, Reply)
Remember, the government recommended weekly limits
have no scientific basis. They're just numbers pulled out of someone's arse.

I have a suspicion where they came from. You see, the government standard ambulance response times for a serious incident (heart attack, stroke, RTA) are 75% attended within 8 minutes and 95% attended within 14 minutes.

You know how they determined those numbers? I'm sure you're thinking survivability, competence of bystanders or something.

No. They measured how long it took ambulances to get to incidents, and found that 75% of them got to an incident within 8 minutes, and 95% of them got to an incident within 14 minutes. Then they declared that the standard. That was back in the '70s and they still use those numbers today despite the increase in traffic. You should see the entirely fictional stats that Ambulance Services produce.

So I look at their alcohol limits and figure they just averaged everyone including methodists and muslims.
(, Thu 12 Feb 2009, 22:09, Reply)
Oh yeah the alcohol limits are rubbish
they vary wildly by country and as an ex "wine advisor" I've discussed this a lot with people who know about these things.. 40/50 units a week is reasonably healthy unless you have particular problems with alcohol.

But I drink around 120 units a week.. fecking off the scale.
