I'm currently awaiting the delivery of my new flatpack bookcase. At first, the only guess was that it would arrive sometime between 8am and 6pm, but I just got a phonecall to say it should be arriving soon.

just had a callout.
just think about the money!
see you guys later ;-)

I have surfaced from my pit and face the world with blinking but unhungover eyes - Only the need for fags and sugar mean I shall have to leave my nice warm house.
How be tricks?

And in the meantime, my bookcase has arrived. Yay for not spending the day wondering when it's coming.
EDIT: Mornin' Spunky

Serendipity indeed. Now for 30 mins counting the grub screw, dowls and finding that they've not put any wood glue in the pack.

told the guy who phoned me that i would need to bring babyblaireau with me, not a problem says he.
got to his house, only 5 minutes away, the guy is puffing away on a regal kingsize. i asked the guy to not smoke whilst we are there and he says that it's his house and he'll smoke if he likes...
i replied that actually the smoking at work rules apply cos his house is my (temporary) place of work, and that i'm requesting he not smoke for the 10 minutes it'll take me to stop water coming through his kitchen ceiling. he flatly refused! so i bade him good-day and left.
twunt.
apparently nicotine is more important to him that his ceiling?
(, Sat 28 Mar 2009, 10:50, Reply)
makes others think smokers are arrogant cunts. I don't smoke in my house, when you could smoke in pubs I never did so when anyone on my table was eating and if I am with people who are trying to quit I try not to smoke around them.
But that may be because I am freaking awesome. *bigs self up*

He'll only realise the foolishness of his actions when the cascading water puts out his tab
Edit. Morning TGB - How's the morning after the night before?
(, Sat 28 Mar 2009, 10:53, Reply)
i used to smoke, like a fluffing chimley! but never if anyone was eating, or if i was in the company of non-smokers etc.
frankly i hope the fucker drowns!
edit: or is crushed by falling plaster...
edit2: and i must remember to send him an invoice for the callout!

Although we don't have any milk so I am having to drink black tea :(
(, Sat 28 Mar 2009, 10:58, Reply)
black tea is healthier. try some lemon, it's not just for the G&T.
(, Sat 28 Mar 2009, 11:00, Reply)
so it's actually quite nice without. I may stop having milk
(, Sat 28 Mar 2009, 11:02, Reply)
cos of the uht-ness, and thoroughly enjoy it. but almost as soon as we get home...
(, Sat 28 Mar 2009, 11:05, Reply)
Here's a handy tip. Pour milk in to an ice cube tray and freeze so when you run out of milk you chuck in a milk cube and have an emergency cuppa.
It also cools the tea slightly for immediate hangover relief.
(, Sat 28 Mar 2009, 11:11, Reply)
forward planning Spunky! I think I'll just stick to the black tea ;)
(, Sat 28 Mar 2009, 11:26, Reply)
It feels strange to say that on a Saturday.
Having woken up early and without a hangover for the first Saturday in ages I'm a little at a loss as to what to do with myself.
Edit: Black Coffee FTW!

I think it's going to have to be another ciggy, shower and then into hunter/gatherer mode to stalk around Sheffield in search of tasty food.
Laters lovelies!

That smoking bloke was a complete twat.
I smoke in my own house, I don't smoke in other peoples house, unless they say I can. If people are eating then I won't smoke. I'm like Badger that way.
So how are folks this fine day? I'm at my girlfriends, just posting while she's in the shower.
(, Sat 28 Mar 2009, 11:34, Reply)
I've just been playing Streetfighter 2 HD on the PS3, I'd forgotten what a cheap dirty fighting cunt Dhalsim is!
A total agreement on the smoking guy here, I'm the first to admit I smoke a lot but have a similar ruleset to Dok.

Just saw that you're not hungover today! What's wrong, are you not well or something?
(, Sat 28 Mar 2009, 11:45, Reply)
I decided to call it a night early so headed home about midnight.
I probably should be hungover after 6 Long Island Iced Teas & a shot of Jagermiester but I'm surprisingly clearheaded this morning.
(, Sat 28 Mar 2009, 11:48, Reply)
It's yummy.
And I tried not to be an arrogant smoker and now I'm trying not to be a holier-than-thou non-smoker.
(, Sat 28 Mar 2009, 11:59, Reply)
I've been taking care of all kinds of domestic type stuff this morning. I've tidied, hoovered, food shopped, bin emptied, and dish washed. Go me. Now I get to move on to the piles of uni work.
Are we all having fun weekends?
(, Sat 28 Mar 2009, 12:24, Reply)
I too am now an ex-smoker (if you can consider yourself quit after 12 weeks) but hope I don't become one of the militant ones.
(, Sat 28 Mar 2009, 13:02, Reply)
what a constructive day I have had so far - even with a hangover, been to have the old mullet trimmed, showered and shaved - dressed and ready to meet with a lovely young new lass for an afternoon of spending my last 50p - hopefully it may encourage the horizontal squelching to happen sooner than later.
It's been a few months, so I may have to wipe her off the ceiling...
Wipe clean ceilings, thats a new one _ I want a laminator. tis all

So glad the F1's back:D
May be a frustrating year for Hamilton fans.
Won't see too many repeats of me dancing round my living room after the end of least season.
(, Sat 28 Mar 2009, 14:36, Reply)
that was a good dance though! Not quite as good as the look on the Ferrari boys' faces when they found out Massa had lost :p

I think that may have been the highlight of my entire year!

the forecast is a bit shite for tomorrow. Good job I've got no plans.
In other news, absolutely everything is now in place for the big day and the party. Yay!
Oh, and also managed to book train tickets for Tightly's bash in June.

Was it just the website playing funny buggers last night then?
(, Sat 28 Mar 2009, 15:08, Reply)
I got a message back today saying that sometimes it takes 15 - 30 minutes for the site to update when seats have gone. However, I tried again this morning and the same price tickets were still showing, but then saying they were booked, so they're obviously full of shit.
Managed to get booked on the 1pm from Newcastle, which was £20 each, so that's OK. £97 all round, so fairly reasonable.
(, Sat 28 Mar 2009, 15:15, Reply)
I need to book my tix still for Edinburgh.
They never seem to vary in price between Leeds and Carlisle so I can leave that til last minute.

I just signed up for the Dok's Life Begins Bash. Because it's on a Friday there's a late train back which there isn't on a Saturday. Stupid rail people.
